I made a simple xml driven flash text field and can be edited easily using notepad or any xml text editor. If this can be added in vMix, it will make all Flash developers happy :) Virtual Sets config.xml can be edited with a GUI in vMix, possibly this can be done also to control Flash input text using xml. Download my simple flash sample here: https://www.dropbox.com/...ths/flash_text_input.zipI made this for testing only, you can edit my config.xml using a notepad or any text editor to replace the HEADLINE and Subheadline texts. Don't forget to refresh the Flash input in vMix (to do this, right click the Flash input and click REFRESH) every time you change the text in config.xml Please make this happen. I'm excited to make flashy animated overlays :)

Hi,
You should be able to setup a timer in flash that periodically checks the config.xml for updates.

Hi Admin, I think you are missing the point. What I requested if possible is to add an option to edit the flash text input directly in vMix similar to the built-in control of XAML inputs. XAML is nice but the animation is boring, FLASH can do more. Please check my attached link below, it is a Flash animated swf with an xml configuration file. Feel free to edit the text input and color in xml and you will see that the text and color in swf will dynamically change. Use my SWF as flash input in vMix to see the result. https://www.dropbox.com/...tZ_animated_sample01.zipRegards, AmbbotZ

It has a transparent background but not on the lower-third, I added the black background for testing purposes and free distribution :D see the image: https://www.dropbox.com/...qpvh3ukdubb/vMixTest.jpgI'm trying to make my own control for my Flash SWF files. I will update here if I am successful :D

@ AmbotZ Seems to me we are more in need of a controller similar to CasparCG to make this work properly. Most of it is beyond my understanding, so I am probably of little use, correct me if I am wrong but from what I see, there is no control over the flash animation in vMix, it loads and plays fine, there is just no way to stop, rewind, pause and play it again or on demand. Perhaps your expertise and experience with flash might help to bridge the gap, are you familiar at all with CasparCG?

@IceStream
You are right. vMix has no control over Flash, you can only reset/rewind it by right clicking the flash input, you can not stop or pause it...so it will be a good idea to add 5 seconds delay to flash animation before it starts, that way when you reset you will have enough time to cue and overlay it before the animation begins.
I have learned about CasparCG weeks ago, the flash support is amazing, unfortunately it has issues with my laptop openGL and never use it for now, I have windows 8 OS. I am new to vMix and tried it for school activities. I've tried some automated video playout/switcher before like vidBlaster but vMix loads faster.
I am now working on a GUI to edit my Flash text input, I am not sure if It is possible to control flash animation that is loaded in another application.
EDIT: I was able to make a GUI to edit text input and control Flash animation input in vMIX to stop, play and reset the animation. I will upload a video later.

@Ernest Król
Yes I am using text / xml file modification to change flash text input and to trigger controls.

@Damn2Good4U
I will make this available if vMix will not add this feature in the future. You have to be a FLASH developer to understand the actionscript built into flash and make it compatible for my flash control to work.
My GUI flash control is not only for vMIX, it is compatible to all Video Playout/Switcher software that supports SWF overlay.

What if we get someone to help develop a cool lower third or a multiview in flash... Are you looking at various ways the XML script can be used/integrated with whatever .swf file developed?

I integrated a text file, "config.text" loaded into Flash.
This is how it works. Flash will listen every fraction of a second for new text entry in the text configuration file and my Flash Control will modify/update that text file.
I will post a tutorial for Flash developers whenever I decide to share my Flash Control.
It is too early to decide, I made this 3 days ago...let us wait for future updates of vMix :)

It would be great if Martin and the vMix team could get on board with this, but based on previous responses and lack of engagement in the discussions, my thinking is that it is pretty low on the priority list. I'm not as familiar with XAML or if it is a viable solution or perhaps what an alternative to Flash might be in this context, as it is a very powerful and versatile tool, but there is a general perception out there that "Flash is dead" given the evolvement of HTML5 for the web. Perhaps that is why there is seemingly little support in the development of it's integration as a dynamic animated character generator within vMix. Just my thoughts.

FLASH is not DEAD, many people want it dead because either they are too lazy or do not know how to write actionscript. XAML and HTML5 animation is boring, it is JAVA/JQuery and some third party integration that makes HTML5 look cool :)

I agree AmbotZ, it's just merely an observation and speculation as to why there has not been perceived development for this within vMix. Your work has been remarkable and I commend you for it, I just don't think Martin is on the same page and likely feels that the current support for Flash is sufficient, otherwise we would have heard more from him on this. I am not a programmer or very knowledgeable about action script or XAML, nor do I really have the time to learn it thoroughly, otherwise I would have attempted what you have already accomplished, but as Grimble has alluded to, there is a demand for an animated CG type function within vMix and so far you are the only one to have created a solution that I am sure many of us are anxious to get our hands on. So unless Martin chimes in on this and tell us if anything is in the works, or more people don't request this feature, I don't think we will see anything soon.
