Hey all,
I'm trying to mask two cameras four different ways to include as closeups of individuals.
Imagine two twoshots two people on the left two on the right. Two cameras one for each two people.
Then I want to use them as an overlay, in hexagonal windows, one in each corner. There's plenty of overlays on a multiview so I was going to do that here.
The problem is how to get two different masked versions of each camera AND have the fullscreen camera to cut to as well. VMix seems to only want to let me mask the original camera, which is not great, since every other use of the camera is now masked. I lose my fullscreen shot. I can use it as a layer in a multivew but then the camera loses the mask. It's weird, the mask just doesn't seem to exist.
So two options it seems like:
can I create a virtual version of the camera to mask? I could do this four times for each of the guests.
do I need to input more than one copy of the camera to be masked, one each?
why aren't the masks applying to the multiview?

Hi Tracy
Your first suggestion is what I usually do, that is create virtual inputs for each input I want to use Key/Fill with. Quite a lot of work but it works very well.
Another option that might suit you depending on your design is to use a background image for your multiview and to create "shaped holes" in it (with alpha transparency) Then load in your blank multiview input the 2 cameras as overlay 1 and 2 Add the back ground as overlay #3 And finally add the main cam on top of that
Got the idea ? It's much easier to build but does not always fit to the design concept...

How do you make virtual inputs?
I was struggling with applying a shape key because the key only applies to the main layer and not to the multilayer portion of an input.
I'd like very much for this to work, you say you have this working? Like to make a hexagonal key for instance?
