Awesome, I'm already loving improvements, and some design changes :)

Tho, I have some problems, and if I found any other I'll post them in this post:

1. Lenovo web cam input not working in 10.0.0.36, works fine in 9.1.0.37, tried 32 and 64 bit versions it's the same
2.

Some suggestions:
1. Add audio options at every input, as for example audio from camera is built in, and I can't set it as input without audio, and every time I need to manually turn OFF audio on that input when I change the scene!
2. The problem I'm having isn't maybe related to VMix, but it works in OBS, when I want to send a hotkey from my iPad to VMix with Actions server app as for example turning off overlay, VMix automatically comes as the first software on desktop, and opens which isn't good, I want it to stay in background working, as OBS does!

Released an update (10.0.0.38) to resolve a couple of issues:

* Title presets were not applying correctly due to new live feature
* MP4 frame rate was incorrect
* Users could not change transition button when set as a Stinger

martin, you did not mention the fact that vmix 10 is now able to remember the preferred multiview settings! this way i can reuse my custom multiview output. thank you very much !

i am testing and trying...

one thing i noticed is tha in the capture input information under general the capture info about framerates etc has been removed. i use this to test the stable flow of the input and monitor the reult of different settings also on the camera.

where can i find this capture device specific info in v10...

also trying the mp4 recording option. if i want to upload to youtube, what are the specific settings there. we had some debate related to framerates on youtube either 25 or 29.... would be good to have a youtube 720p mp4 setting available...

thanks and i will keep on testing and discovering...

Hi Stefan,

There is now a new button in the bottom right hand corner which contains statistics
from all inputs. It is the button with the coloured bars.

It should give a greater view of any potential bottlenecks.

A 1280x720 4 Mbit MP4 is probably a good starting point for direct YouTube upload.
I'm not sure the frame rate matters to YouTube that much so sticking with the source is recommended.

Martin

hi Martin,

found ithe improved input info and it works ok. this gives me a direct and realtime insight in the framerate comming in and it confirms the stable input setting my panasonic camera hdmi output to progressive...

i also checked youtube specifications. they recommend 5 mbps bitrate for 720p with original progressive framerate. i tried varying the bitrate in therecording setup but no change detected in the recorded mp4 file. so i guess the settings do not come through... can you check...

gr stefan

by the way i am also testing with a avermedia game broadcaster hd card with hdmi and vga input. results so far are good, and price wise also a good option. will meet with m@ik tomorrow to discuss more technical issues and optimistions. will keep testing the new version...

hi martin, glad to see this new preview.

after a little testing, found some issues that might be help you to improve v10:

*green screen in few first frames when start mp4 recording;
*on streaming feature, 64kbps audio data rate is not possible to select, vmix says "Invalid Data Rate", error report sended, choosing 96kbps it streams at 64kbps;
*mixing at "pal 50p" and streaming at "pal 25p and 50i" works fine but when starting mp4 recording at "pal 50p" my firewire cameras slows down to 21fps some moments after and some blocks are displayed on inputs. recording at "pal 25p and 50i" works well. (The idea is mixing and recording at 50p and stream at 25p)

recently, we upgraded our cpu to an Intel 4770 and our motherboard to an asus z87-c. we are using an amd hd 5750 1gb. we hoping to change our graphic card to a geforce in short time.

for those who have experiencing firewire problems, i recommend LAV Video Decoder... this is an extremely super powerfull stable decoder. for me, it works better than any other vídeo decoder.

regards,
melody

Hi Melody,

96kbps is the minimum supported by FMLE, the dropdown does not support 64kbps so this error message is correct.
The MP4 issue sounds CPU related, what is the cpu usage in vMix?

Martin

its realy strange, in v9 i streamed at 64kbps, 1 channel. i believe that 96kbps is the minimum supported for Stereo - 2 channels, but for Mono - 1 channel, the minimum must be 32kbps. maybe some dropdown list with "Mono - Stereo" or "1 Channel - 2 Channels" in streaming feature would be nice.

for the mp4 issue, i thinked the same as you. when i stop the recording all comes back to normal... the cpu usage for vmix is around 20%-25%... global cpu usage on task manager is 60% peak. note that i am using 1920x1080 for mixing, recording and external output (then i do a resize to 640x360 in streaming feature)

sorry for this question that is not related with the above, which software do you recommend for a better resize on output? vmix or FMLE?

regards,
melody

Hi,

When I try to setup recording in x64 vMix, selecting any codec except DV, MJPEG and Decklink MJPEG results in the error:

Recording_OK_Button
This Codec does not support the current resolution of 160x120

Recording_OK_Button
This Codec does not support the current resolution of 1280x720

Recording_OK_Button
This Codec does not support the current resolution of 1920x1080

As you can see, resolution doesn't seem to matter. I've tried Lagarith, Go Pro Cineform, and some of the Blackmagic 4:2:2 options.

Thanks!

Hi Grimble,

If you haven't sent error reports already, please send them.
Have you tried re-installing? vMix 10 includes a codec adapter
for the other codecs that needs to be registered so maybe something strange
happened during install.

Martin

Hello Martin,

i'm testing some of the new API features, especially the ones we discussed for the scheduling application. First one i tested is using GUIDs as reference. Works quite well, and will help my further developement greatly! But something is weired: when i try to remove an input that is already closed, vMix will close another input instead, it seems it always closes the second input in that case. That's a bad thing to happen, as i would still have to poll the status page to see if the input i'm going to close is really still there... Could you please look into this?

Going to test more features in the next couple of days, so expect me to bother you more... ;-)

Hi,

I've just sent a bunch of error reports. I've also done a reinstall with a reboot, no joy.

This is great news - a very useful feature for us. Thanks.

Could it be possible to send 4 or 6 (or 9) first inputs to a secondary monitor? Live production setups differ case by case - sometimes there 4 cameras and sometimes there might be 3 cameras and 3 delays. One input is usually not enough in such cases and 2 or 3 inputs are inefficient to display on widescreen monitor.

Dundurs

A new update has been released (10.0.0.40)

* Dragging elements inside a Virtual Set now works correctly
* Enabling MultiView cropping did not work as expected
* RemoveInput function no longer defaults to Preview when input no longer exists
* Fixed error when recording with new AVI codecs

Dundurs,

The MultiView output option displays up to 8 inputs at once so that might be suitable.
You can also create a MultiView input with the inputs you want to see and then set that as the fullscreen output.
