I know that this was implemented a few versions ago, but it is now not working.
Even though I have not checked "allow Multiple instances" I can launch more vMixes at will in the lastest versions. This is an issue for new non technical users.
Bug?
Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,
I can confirm it is still working as of the latest update. (It will show the splash screen when opening twice but jump to the original instance and close down) Double check multiple instances isn't enabled in Settings.
Regards,

Have tried it on 3 machines today.
Launching vMix from desktop icon, launches another new version with 2 blank inputs.
Double checked the settings on each.

What version? I can't replicate it here on 20.0.0.46 on a few machines. Maybe someone else can try and confirm.

Checked on multiple systems...works as expected. As Martin has suggested, you may have the "enable multiple instances" checked even though you believe it to be off.

OK I went to the same PC's checked the "multiple instances allowed" box, restarted vMix and same behavior.
Then Unchecked and restarted and now it works as expected.
HMMM, but all is well.

Hi, I have noticed that an unchecked "allow multiple instances" box will inhibit opening any more instances only once the first instance has launched completely (past the splash screen).
If you try to launch two instances at the exact same time from the Windows desktop, two or more instances will still launch.
We've had issues with two instances of vmix opening if an operator double clicks the app icon two times, if the splash screen for the first instance had not appeared yet (sometimes it takes a few seconds). This ends up causing issues with blackmagic input/output on both instances.
