Occasional 1s glitch on my system... Can you help?

Howdy...
I'm new to vMix, but have a long streaming history...
I'm running the system on an i7 quad core system with BM input cards, and everything is working just great... When recording (not streaming) to H.264 with hardware encoding, my system reports just 10% load, which is wonderful...
However, I notice that around once every hour or so, I get a 1s glitch on the video, where the audio continues without a problem, but the video glitches and jumps, and ends up 1s out of sync...
Not the worst problem to fix in post, but still a bit of a pain...
This is not apparent on the screen.... The lip sync is dead on all the way to the end when I stop recording... But when I check the recording on my MAC afterwards... the beginning is great, but somewhere during the hour, there will be this glitch, and the video jumps out of sync with the audio...
Once I fix that, all is good... I haven't seen this happen more than once per hour (each of my recordings is around an hour) but I'm not sure what's causing it...
I've run Wirecast and Livestream Studio on this PC without experiencing this issue, although not recording to H.264... I really like the H.264 recording on the system, so I'd love to get this working...
Can you shed any light?

Hmmm... I'm not sure. I believe it's a Gigabyte, but I don't have it in front of me...

We have these type of issues on x99 Motherboards.

I see... Well this computer is a couple of years old, so I don't think it's an X99...
It's very strange.. Works really well for 99% of the time, then just 1s of 'glitch' every hour or so... Really hope I can find out the issue....

Howdy...
20mbps H.264.... Hardware encoding. Everything else default.
Recording to an external USB3.0 SSD

Howdy...
So, quick update... This seems to happen about once an hour but not specifically exactly every hour... It's easy to fix in post as the glitch is always almost exactly 30 frames or 1s long... Also, it doesn't seem to matter what input is selected at the time... Whether one of my 2 cameras or the input from an HDMI computer via a Decimator...
Would love to hear if anyone knows a solution I could try...

Can you monitor your system and see what the CPU use is when the glitch occurs?
There may be another application on your PC that is operating occasionally. Task Manager will show you what it is, but only in real time. So, you could set up a test that included the Task Manger window as part of your recording so you could see what app is spiking at that moment.

I see 2 possible reasons:
- USB external drive : does this happen when using an internal disk on Sata ? > hardware issue
- Did you try recording with FFMPEG (not the default MP4 recording mode) ? > software issue
It could be interesting to try this in order to find where to search for the exact cause.

Howdy...
Good suggestions...
I plan on doing a test tomorrow for a couple of hours.. I'll bring in the desktop as an input and run Task Manager on it...
I'll also use an internal drive, although I doubt that's the issue... Recording at 20mbps, there shouldn't be any drive that can't keep up :)
Will let you know how that goes.
