This would be very useful. I do dynamic titles for competitions depending on who advances and I do it over live footage so being able to blur out all or even some with a selectable area and putting a title over it to draw focus would make a huge difference for me!

You could also shoot a monitor with an SD camera and defocus it. White balance on a white frame.

I know that nobody wants to hear this, but blurring video is a compute intensive process. It will add to the load on the GPU. Might not be possible on some GPUs. |

I agree with Michael Graves and will add that it is very easy to produce a blurring image with a camera: just go out of focus! |

                +1 (beyond just Multiviews)
Since the implementation of GDPR in Europe an increasing number of our customers ask/demand us to avoid capturing identifiable persons.
Being able to blur/defocus a whole Input, and/or Multiview layer, would help us a lot. Even more if this could be applied using a mask, like for a keyer.

We have tried different approches ranging from defocusing the camera to applying raster images in Multiview Inputs. But the former is extremely impractical, sometimes useless. And the latter looks terrible.

(Please refrain from discussing GDPR per se, I personally could go on for days/months. The point here is that we are loosing gigs when customers avoid livestreaming because of GDPR. Guess we are not alone...)

I know that Martin has explained that we can't have a live blur effect because it's a resource hog. I completely get that. Could we instead have a NON-live blur effect that would simply allow us to very quickly save a PNG or JPEG of an adjustable blurred input (and automatically create a new input) WITHOUT the need to go into Photoshop (or other) to render it?
That would save a lot of time!

 Thanks.
