A lot of times i use the preview screen to make a template image.
It would be nice if i can use the snapshot tool on the preview so i not have to put it on the mainscreen for capture (during show this is not possible ;-))

After some research i discovered it was available when using shortcuts.
But that option is removed :-( or i do not have this option for another reason :-(

I have had a couple of people ask about image capture of "preview" window. This would be way more useful than program actually.

vMix 20? :-)

I also do not see the image capture shortcuts in the list.

Snapshot is only for program, not preview :-( In the manual it say you can choose any source.

Maybe this could be achieved by extending the SNAPSHOT shortcut function to allow the Input to be specified. Currently the only value that can be used is for the filename to save as.

@ doa

Unfortunately, the screenshot from that thread is a little misleading...
It is a valid request (in both this and that thread) to have more options for the "Snapshot" function.
But AFAIK, it has always just been for the Output screen (as it is currently in vMix 19.0.0.54):

Perhaps support can be added to one or the other, or maybe the two threads can be combined by an administrator for better tracking of this Feature Request.

+1 again, this is still a common request, snapshots of "program" are just not that useful.

I think this very much depends on what you're doing, for news and sport the ability to grab still frames from program while broadcasting is very useful.

If you're doing something like shopping TV, the ability to grab a product shot on preview out of vision is also very useful.

I found out that it grabs always output 1, is this correct ?
Can this be changed ?

Because since v20 you can patch a input as source for a output (1-4).

I use sharex to automatically tweet the program snapshot with a shortcut... this shows the score. Once capturing the program output, sharex detects a change in the folder and tweets without intervention.

+1 to other sources but also having an input type that uses the last snapshot as a source.
