The production we are doing is for video projected within a VR dome. In essence, it is a video production. Nowadays, videos are no longer simply 720, 1080, 2160 etc. The resolution we were looking for is actually a supported resolution by a Magewell card (2048x2048) supported by vMix. Would be great a future version of Vmix could offer the resolutions supported the by capture card. Feature request :-)

Well, 360 video maps quite perfectly to VR, which is 360 (VR content is typically based on square resolutions, rather than common 16:9 video resolutions, hence, video for VR is best suited in square formats). The combination of VR and video is really MR (mixed reality), but for "marketing" reasons, VR is simply a more mainstream term. People are still getting used to the VR term, no need to introduce a new one. Reminds me of the 80's, when people started calling video cassettes of movies, simply as "videos". I was confused when I first heard someone say, "I am going to the video store to rent a video". The term was confusing, but soon became the norm.
