Has anyone heard if the HDMI input on some Alienware laptops is recognized in Vmix?

Would love to use an HDMI cable from the camera right into the program without a capture card, if it's possible.

Have you tried different some different resolution and frame rate (system) options in the capture window?

That error message usually means the device is not working (at all), but as you have said it works in other programs
I can only guess it is saying that because the selected resolution does not match the camera.

Martin

The way I am testing it is not by means of a camera but a direct connection of the HDMI out to in. This gives me basically a second screen (without monitor).
Vlc, even FMLE can grab it directly (see it as a directshow source)

Could anyone confirm if this 'little' issue has been resolved in the latest version ?

I finally have a HDMI cam , and am able to get the video through build in HDMI-IN to several video software recorders (but not all) .

Sorry can not test myself as I am way past demo time

Thanks
