admin wrote:Just made some improvements to how the vMix Call site works which should help punch through corporate firewalls a bit better (which tend to completely block UDP). However, the vMix side of things will still need to be on a network that does not completely block UDP. (which is most networks we have encountered thankfully)
I don't recall to have seen any corporate firewall that blocks all UDP traffic. However, any netadmin with even a slight case of paranoia, will disable UPNP in order to prevent a random LAN client to make configuration changes in the firewall. That said, getting some technical details about how the vMix Call communication is working, would be very useful. Not at least for troubleshooting situations where traffic is routed via WAN interface when it should have been kept Lan2Lan. Best Jon

Observations on vMix Call using Two Chrome browser instances
Working out a solution for a client who wants to have one caller with two cameras and be able to switch the cameras herself from the Host PC.
1. Set up two Chrome browser windows on the remote PC (one for each webcam). 2. Connected Chrome#1 to host with webcam#1 with no problem. 3. Connected Chrome#2 to host with no problem but Chrome#2 used webcam#1 (Didn't know video sources could be shared. Martin, what did you do? Did you break Chrome?) 4. Changed Chrome#2 to use webcam#2 with no problem. 5. Ran around the room shouting and hooting.
This is way too cool!
- Tom
UPDATE: Just tried it with 4 Chrome browser instances and 4 webcams on an ASUS ROG laptop. CPU @ 70%. Potential remote switcher

There is something funky going on with the luma key feature of vMix. Here is the setup...
Add a motion background, and 2 different luma key masks. Create 2 virtual inputs of the background.
Now, in the first virtual background, add the first luma key mask and close the settings window. Add the second luma key input to the second virtual background.
The first virtual background key looks to be the second. When you open the settings for the first Virtual background it changes them both to the first key again.
The keys are correct, but like the overlay issue, the luma changes to the active settings tab.

Can you create a video to demonstrate? I just did exactly as you described in 19 and the luma remains different for each of the two virtual inputs.

vMix 19 Preview - 19.0.0.33http://cdn.vmix.com/download/vmix19preview.exe* Added ability to toggle what is displayed for each caller in Call Manager. Simply click the box at the top of any call to switch between Name + Key, Name + Input Title or just Name * Added more fallback connection options to vMix Call for restricted networks * Fixed playback/duration issues with some MPG files * Fixed SetTransition shortcut not working with Stingers * Fixed transition names in API xml for Stingers * Fixed call input black levels appearing lighter on some systems * Latest NDI SDK included This version should be considered a "Release Candidate" which means we are now close to the final public release, so if there any bugs you think haven't been fixed, please report them as soon as possible!

BTW, I believe there is another issue with the settings dialog concerning the zooming of the camera shown in this video. Notice that after adding the camera, and when I go to rotate and position the camera, the top zoom entry reads 1.4. I have to enter the field, and hit enter for the Zoom X, and Zoom Y entries to take that value. Something isn't refreshing correctly, much like the enable boxes of the Multivue overlays.

OnAudioMeter trigger: Is this a bug - or intended behavior (vMix 4K - 19.0.0.32 x64)? : https://forums.vmix.com/....aspx?g=posts&t=9628To add to this, I found if any of the inputs that are currently active in the multi-view are in output, the trigger for the mic gets disabled, even though its a completely separate input, which is itself active all the time. G.

If you are able to demonstrate the problem from a blank preset step by step that will help me duplicate it.

G. This is intended behavior at this time. If an input is already in output in some way, then the trigger will not apply as it could cause infinite loops if you aren't careful. All the audio meter data is in the XML API now though, so someone could write an app relatively easily to automate switching based on audio in any way they like. The "Audio Controlled Switcher" in Tom's store is an example of software that does this, however I believe they monitor audio devices directly, though they could easily convert this to use the XML API in vMix if they so choose...

Here is my Luma key problem in video form. As for replicating the problem mentioned in the previous video, I'll try, but it only seems to do that after something was set up.

Here is the position bug video. It tends to only be a problem if adjusting other parameters. In my case after I set the Z rotation of the input, then changed the zoom value, and then closed the input. When re-adding the input, it was then that the wrong value shows in the zoom box.

@ madness
Re: position bug video I have seen similar "remnant" values in those boxes before, although, that value is not the actual value of the current Input but rather the last value that was previously typed in that box of another Input (I don't know why it does that, but I have just grown to ignore it as it appears to be a "false remnant" if you will; a glitch or bug perhaps but it is inconsequential in my estimation).

Thanks. For some reason if I follow the exact same steps as the video I can't recreate the problem. Zoom always end up back at 1 or all three values when adding the input again after closing it. I did see the windows in your video have a slow response time perhaps due to using an old graphics card which may be a factor somehow. If someone else is able to duplicate this let me now..

I actually time stretched the video to enhance it. Otherwise things happened too fast. My system is as follows Asus P6T deluxe v2 (2008) Xeon x5680 running 3.6GHz 18Gb memory 256GB SSD primary drive 1TB WD data drive NVidia GTX 970 video card. The x5680 doubled the performance of this system when it replaced it's original i7-920 first gen i7 from 2008. It scores in benchmarks nearly identical to my new MSI GT72 Gaming laptop. https://www.amazon.com/M...msi+gt72+dominator+g-831I'll try to replicate this same thing on the laptop to verify my results on my end.

Ice Totally agree, as I had verified that by looking at the camera image. It did not reflect the zoom size.
