Last week was a less formal show as we didn't have a guest. There are a core group of 4-6 who are "regulars." We are then joined by various others who are part of the extended community.
The small group last week were the core team:
- Randy Resnick, Founder (Bordeaux, FR)
- Michael Graves, ZipDX (Houston TX)
- James Body, Head of R&D Truphone (London, UK)
- Andy Smith, Telecom Engineer extraordinaire, R&D Truphone (UK)
What we do is likely unique. Since we're in the IP Telecom space we try to combine many modes of interaction. We try to be fully interactive with the live audience, however they may join.
- We use a Hangout-On-Air (15 seats)
- The HOA sends a stream to YouTube Live
- We occasionally also stream to facebook Live
- Hangout audio is interconnected with the
ZipDX audio conference bridge- Allows full voice-only participation by people "on-the-phone"
- The conference bridge operates in HDVoice (G.722)
- It's accessible via SIP URI (200901@conf.zipdx.com)
- It's also accessible via
dial-in numbers in many countries- It also feeds a live MP3 stream
- There's a IRC channel (vuc.freenode.net) for chat directly with the team & community
- The IRC channel is federated via Matrix.org, making it accessible in a variety of ways
I use vMix to deliver the show open and augment the presentation as necessary to meet the needs of the guest(s). I used to use Wirecast, until I discovered vMix...which is very simply better.
Randy, being a Mac user, uses Wirecast and CamTwist.
