Can we know when will be the release date of vMix v6? I am looking forward to see if the problems i have with "no audio" on capture input will get fixed, if not i will just have to get a blackmagic intensity pro as i guess that hardware does not have this problems i have at the moment with avermedia capture card. I am still using FMLE instead of vMix as i did try the latest drivers for capture card, videocard, latest vmix V5, and most of the times i get perfect picture with no audio.

Hi,
Without knowing what the underlying issue is, it's hard to know if your particular issue will be fixed or not. I will post an update to your original thread with some further information you can provide us to help solve this issue.
Regards,
Martin vMix

In the light of all that happend i sugest that one feauture is critical, and this is:
A loging system where when a problem is reported, a log report generated to be made available to be attached, to the problems reported here as i see it inoportun to expres our amateur esplanations of a problem to such a technical software.
I love this software and i consider already a mature software, but to receive an answer like :not sure of enviroment and varibles involved: it seems inoportun, maybe it is time for a RUN IN DEBUG MODE AVAILABLE WHERE USER ALLOW ACCESS TO VMIX TO COLECT EVERYTING INCLUDING USER ACTIONS, SOFTWARE VARIABLES, SOFTWARE STATE AND OPERATING SYSTEM ENVIROMENT, in other words all needed to get problems fixed.
I hope this helps and it is not taken as a complain, as i really enjoy vmix feautures. This is why i am ready to spend money on diffrent hardware and keep this software going.

hi martin, remembering a feature request... Is there a way to implement an "input manipulator" or a "Live Stream Manipulator"? the idea is work on a 24h live stream and give director the possibilities below: - movies, music video clips, advertising, live broadcast, music concerts, etc... watch foldered files (with custom time start/finish and custom transition to starts and to finish) - "X" minutes or "X" files randomly selected for advertising or related in a custom dedicated watch folder; - start video/audio files in a custom position (this give possibility to do "part 1" and "part 2" for long duration files); - dedicated logo input in a custom position (similar to existing overlay but with possibility to tick "allways on", only if "movie", only if "Live Broadcast", only if "Music Concert", "off") and choose what moment it goes on (ON "X" seconds after input starts and OFF "X" seconds before input finish); - custom text information during play ("next presentation", "important presentation - xx:xx", "live stream" timetable with custom name); i know that this would not be easy to implement but it will be another HUGE step to vmix, No other software do that, and you know that some other users want this feature. thank you for attention, regards... melody www.espiritosanto.cc

Two fairly specialised requests from me, all to do with eSports webcasting:
- I usually have 3-4 RTMP stream inputs from various people all providing camera feeds within a game. I'd like a video delay input for each of these feeds, if possible. - Sometimes these feeds can be slightly out of sync - I can get my feeds to apply a timecode (probably based on their system clock), so a way to sync these streams based on that timecode would be appreciated.
I realise these are unlikely to be used by anyone else currently, but if you don't ask you don't get. :)

dundurs wrote:15. We are using video transition when switching from capture input to video delay input, which allow to create great sports broadcasts. At this point we have attached the video transition (2sec video) via multiview and chroma key to the video delay input, which means transition starts at the same time as video delay. However we want half of the transition to go over capture input and only the other half over the video delay input. One way to introduce this feature would be to set ms of delay for video delay input allowing the multiview chroma keyed video transition to start for example 1sec earlier than the video delay input itself. "Delayed cut" so to speak. I _think_ you can achieve this same effect with a series of hotkeys and use of the overlays. I set up autohotkey (http://www.autohotkey.com/) to turn on the overlay (your transition video), wait 2 seconds, then cut to the delay input. I've done it with a static image but will test with a video transition this evening.

As an update, v6 will include the following Desktop Capture improvements:
* The ability to select a particular window on the remote PC to capture * Audio support for Windows 7 and higher
v6 test will be within a couple of weeks

That's already possible for a long long time. See this post for more information.

Suggestion
When opening a preset where a file has been moved or renamed vmix will give an error of Could not Open Input: File Not Found. Sometimes you may not remember or know which file it is. It doesn’t give you the name of the file it couldn’t find. Can this be added to the error that comes up so you can replace the file?

Any chance there might be a version of the Desktop Capture Application for the Apple platform in the future? (As in capturing the desktop of a Apple Computer, Laptop or maybe even iPad for input to vMix like a Windows PC.) That would be awesome as many of our users are switching over to Apple Computers for presentations.

An OSX Desktop Capture program is planned for release but there are a couple of technical hurdles to overcome first. I would estimate around 6 months before it is ready.

Couldn't you use VLC mac version to send out a RTMP stream of the desktop to be received by a RTMP module in vMix ?

IMHO, in addition one could add an "Browse..." button within this error dialog. Therefore you could fix the path and vMix would continue loading the preset normally, instead of having to add this input (and possibly applying custom settings) from scratch. Would it be enough to stream videos or is it suitable just for PPT/Keynote presentations?

Minor suggestion, maybe it's already suggested in this long list for V6:
Could the preset directory be set permanently in settings. Now if you look at a different directory with some other function and you want to load a preset, the default folder has changed. For me I put all the presets in a specific folder.
If this folder is set and changed in settings, you always know where the settings will be looked for when you click the load preset button.
Cheers, Stefan

I haven't tested this with VMix fully just VLC on PC1 (laptop) to VLC on PC2 Going to try and test it this weekend fully plus test it with Mac too at my buddy's studio.

From what I can tell VLC only supports RTSP not RTMP and vMix only supports RTMP. Not to worry though, some progress has been made on an OSX desktop capture program, just need to set aside the time to build it which will probably happen sometime after the release of v6.

Good news! A beta version of the vMix Desktop Capture for Mac will be available with the release of v6. It will be available alongside the Windows version as a separate download.

Please Please Please remember to include a Customizable Title Generator with simple animation like we use to change camera shots such as: Fly in/out, Zoom in/out, rotate in/out, slide in/out, fade in/out, scroll in/out,etc. All in/out animations by using the same or similar coding that is already in vMix, so we can input a png or jpeg, tiff, etc. already design with text, graphics, size and have it animate in and out. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee.
