Work has already begun on v6 and I have a new theme to preview:

UserPostedImage

This theme will be available as well as the existing themes and I would like to hear some feedback on what people think.

Other features in v6 include:

* "Switcher" web interface with rows of preview, active and overlay buttons with T-bar slider.
* AddInput/RemoveInput API options for images, videos and titles
* Integrate Master Audio with each MultiCorder recording
* Audio VU Meter displays next to each input
* Fade Bar will be linked with first transition option so the effect can be customised.

Please post your suggestions below.

Thanks,

Martin

Thanks for moving the VU meters side by side. Please do not forget to add the "record without checking recording setup" option. It's a bit of a pain to have to open the record setup window every time I run Vmix, even though I do not need to change record settings.

Dude, what you do to this software is just amazing! Thank you for all your hard work.

Also I have to say, I LOVE! your new skin. So sleek and beautiful. :)))

I know I've posted this request before, but in times of fast expanding API it may be much more useful than before:

Could you possibly introduce an API function called "ListFunctions"? This should return a JSON structure stating the name of the function, a short description and the possible params. E.g. like the following.
Code:

{
    "Functions":[
        {
            "Name":"Fade",
            "Description":"Apply 'Fade' transition",
            "Params":[
                "Input",
                "Duration"
            ]
        },
        {
            "Name":"Pause",
            "Description":"Pauses playback of given input",
            "Params":[
                "Input"
            ]
        }
    ]
}

That would be plain awesome!!!

Regards, mh166

What a speed :)

I vote for the new theme multiple times!
Just a small suggestion for the theme. Maybe it is good to lose the "glossy look" from the tile bars of the modules windows, too. Just mate colors ..

Also, another feature suggestion.

It will be great if we can add to the shortcuts set-up a command line action.
I imagine this needs a fair amount of work and has a lot of benefits.

Scenarios:

a) In conjunction with the new "nested shortcuts" we can start third party scripts when needed like an electronic counter we have displayed on the set-up. Also, we can start different kind of lights in the studio like "On Air" or "Get Ready".

b) In our case we try to use different computers for mixing the cameras and for recording and live streaming. It will be great if we can trigger the second computer actions with the first computer shortcuts .

Good suggesting regarding the title bars.
I have updated the screenshot to show the latest updates including the new VU meter for audio inputs.

hello vote for the option to choose the audio input on the capture of desktop I use to put a camera vivotek air but complicated for me playlist. One might add that to save the position of a title ask if you want to leave it as default because if not every time we add a title, go moving it until it is as we

Great job as usual and i love the new look (theme) for v6 straight clean lines,
yes i agree loose the glossy shine a matte theme would really look good on vMix

Here is my few suggestions for v6

1. I suggested this before and now again: A title generator built into vmix or a much simpler way to
make still and animated titles, lower thirds, over the shoulder, etc. Not too savvy with Microsoft Visual Blend.
A simple PNG file with to fly, scroll, fade, glide, etc. with in out effects. This is already in vMix just add to titles.
And lots more titles to choose from.

2. Youtube integration is lovely, so would streaming to other streaming service by importing there XML, Embed code, html link, etc.

Well thats it for now great work again Martin, vMix is great love it.

Just to be clear with my vote.
The existing system for titles is very powerful and flexible. It should be kept and used.

But sometimes, we need a much simple way to add titles and other "animated" things.

A good option would be Vmix After Effects v6 can connect to Vmix through a plugin to access to create themes and run them Vmix.

Hi Martin,
The new skin looks great! Here are a few feature suggestions that I have:

- Allow keyboard shortcuts to be used when a vMix window other than the main window has focus (e.g. the title editor).
- An option to add a time delay for capture inputs. This would be extremely helpful when trying to sync multiple audio or video sources that have varying amounts of lag (e.g. DV or some USB capture devices). Ideally all inputs would be realtime, but that's not always an option.
- A confirmation prompt when vMix is closed ("Are you sure you want to exit?") to help prevent accidentally closing the application (like I did today).
- The ability to record using the preset configuration without having to open the recording setup dialog first.
- A "smooth" wipe transition (a combination of wipe and fade, if you know what I mean) would be great for title overlays.
- Animated titles of some kind would be nice, if possible...

Thanks for a great program!

Jonathan

Entries may be grouped? the video, titles, photos, etc. and be able to choose which view, nothing would also be good to make playlists of music, pictures, for example to give play music from the input to background music

hi martin,

i would like to sugest an improvement for chroma key feature. is it possible to implement an improvement that enables user to take a shot and use it as a chroma base to be replaced for another source (video, image)?

it would be great because this improvement doesn`t limits you to a fixed color, you can use any fixed background with multiple colors as chroma key.

thank you for your attention, regards,

melody

One more feature suggestion:
Could you add an "Audio Playlist" input for adding a list of audio files, with the option to shuffle, loop, etc.? This would be useful for playing background music on a live stream while waiting for an event to start. The ability to import or link M3U playlist files would be great as well, to import playlists from iTunes.

Thanks!

after a really productive production weekend i came to the following bugs/feature requests:
(thanks for the add/close/etc input in the api, i really need that)

what i think are bugs:
- video-delay save: the aspect ratio of the input (camera) is widescreen, but i have to set the delay to widescreen manually, or get narrow (4:3) screen files to replay
- input select window: when i click a button (save on a video delay for example) i can scroll with my mouse wheel in the input select window, all other times i can't
- video-delay save: sometime tells me it needs a (freak i forgot) codec or plugin to load the file after saving, most times it's ok and loading the file later works as well. Sent several bug reports with the button this weekend

what i think are feature requests:
- video delay save: start stop button as well as the current last'n' seconds (in my sport much easier to time, sometimes i need 2 seconds, sometimes 20
- video delay save: an audio input for the saved files, so i can do a moments of the day with them (auto audio is switched of, a normal replay is played without it's audio because commentary continues in the audio stream.

besides that my compliments, the people that were filming for post production were impressed by what we could do live with such reasonably simple setup of 1 pc, a few hd cams and a sattelite link :)
