NDI minimum spec requires SSE 3 and AVX.

The 4960 is a nice CPU. I believe it is 6 core, not 4. I have a system built around the 6-core 3930 and a GTX 970 that handles 4 HD signals flawlessly. Can't comment on more than that.

I'm running a xeon E5-1660 6 core @4ghz with a GTX970 with a BMD quad 2 and that works flawlessly with 8 HD inputs. I think it can even do more because without streaming or recording, the cpu usage is very low and render times are below 10ms. When you want to multicorder while streaming and recording plus use NDI, more cores is always better, but you do not need newest hardware. I think a 40 lane 2011 board with 40 lane CPU with a clock speed of 3 ghz or higher together with a Nvidia GTX960 or better, is a good foundation for a vmix system. Please bear in mind that 2011-v1/2 cpu's are quite cheap, but the mainboards are not. Also the mainboards are not easy available because they are very much wanted. If you build new, I would go with 2011-v3.

I'm all fan of xeons. Can't beat the price of the xeon e5 2620 for example. It's in one of my rigs and never touches 50% on 7-8 HD inputs, while recording and streaming at the same time.
I now built 2 systems with a 10 core Xeon E5-2630 v4 and a nvidia 1080 graphic card, with 8 HD inputs and 1 4k input it doesn't even touch 15% cpu load.
My opinion is that you pay a lot of extra's for clockspeed in the i7 range, while actually you need more cores.

What did you go with in the end, and how did it run for you? PFBM wrote:check this config :

Sick info! Are you doing any multicorder stuff too? Do you ever see it go higher than 24%? PFBM wrote:HI !
