Hy everyone!

Is there any way to receive an NDI Stream on a machine that is not running vMix? I've tried it on a Computer and I was able to receive the Video-Stream (or only the Audio if needed) via vMix.

Any possibility to open that stream f.e. on a web browser? That way it would be possible to stream the audio via network and receive it on a phone (iOs or Android) and therefore make it available for the guys behind the camera. Would be a nice, and in that case pretty convenient, intercom system.

Probably it's easy to accomplish and I am just missing something. Or it's simply not possible.

Any help appreciated.

Best regards

Fenki

Fenki,
NewTek's Toolpack (for Windows, available via newtek.com/ndi) includes their "NDI Video Monitor" whick allows you to display an NDI source without vMix.

To my knowledge there are no such apps for mobile devices out (yet). But I guess many will come. Se for example other ones from Sienna.

I doubt NDI (whick uses relatively high bandwidth) is a good solution for intercom. (Looking forward to be proven wrong).

Thanks Richard!

I think that might be a possibility if you only send out the Audio Stream - with Video it's obiously too much used bandwith for the use as an intercom. However I think this might be worth trying and I'm looking forward to some apps for that to start testing... ;-)

NewTek NDI Connect Pro has a built in webserver that will allow any NDI stream on the network to be viewed in a web browser. It is video only, but does allow for multiple feeds to be viewed at once.
