Hello, am a moderately new user of the vmix software, I am using the sd paid version of vmix but i would like to now integrate skype into my broadcasts, I am not really a technical guy but i try to learn, I am kindly requesting someone out there to help me kindly with a simple step by step solution to better my relationship with my viewers

I used to do that last year, but I can not remember the exact setup, and I used only one (1) PC to do it, and it worked great...I think there is a tutorial by George Price on the setup....I got the idea from his video...you can do a Youtube search for it

But I think it went like this...
do a 'Screen Capture', select 'This PC', there is a selection where you can choose the area you want to capture, adjust the capture area to fit the Skype video area....the drawback is not to minimize the Skype window, as you will loose the capture...it worked for me for what I was doing

Thanks George, enjoyed both your videos. Until the arrival of my new HP Z series computer, I am trying to accomplish the recording of a Skype call using V16 HD and Martin's technique on one computer.

I have hit a snag, using my MSI gaming laptop, I get a distortion on Line2 of the VAC cable. I am wondering if this could be an issue with Windows 8.1 (vMix 16) ?

Any records of success with vMix 16, Windows 8.1 and Martin's technique?

I need more than luck.

Testing out VAC
* using Audio repeater I sent output from Line 1 to Windows media mapper
* I then tested the Line1 and it carriend the test sound to the speakers just fine
* I repeated this process with Line2, and it too sounded fine



I am guessing it is a combination of vMIX16 and my MSI Gaming Laptop Audio setup

I will abandon this project until my new HP Z440 workstation arrives and start all over with it. I am assuming I will have to pay to upgrade from vMIX16 to vMIX17 to get the NDI function. I think also it has horizontal tabs for the inputs, easier for these old eyes to read.

That's sound advice. I have a license for VAC but I've set it aside since the release of VoiceMeeter Banana. While it may not have all of the low-level controls it's much, much easier to use than VAC.

I don't see a reason to use VAC until the number of devices you need to access outstrips VMBs I/O compliment.
