Couple of additional features being added to v5:
* Set a duration for an overlay to automatically fade out. * A single shortcut can be used to trigger an unlimited number of shortcuts.

Multiple shortcuts with durations won't be implemented in vMix directly as the level of complexity rules it out for the majority of users. (Plus it is extremely difficult to test every scenario and may introduce bugs for users that would never use it)
If someone wants to attempt it they could build some 3rd party software to activate functions in the API.

What you can look at is the Virtual GenLock stats in the Input Properties window. If the numbers in brackets are unusually high (either over 20 such as (20,15)) then it indicates a system bottleneck somewhere. What are the specs of the machine being used? CPU, Graphics Card, Windows version? Thanks, Martin vMix I sent you a screenshot via email, did you get it ? The genlock values are pretty high, what could be cause cause of that? I dont see any issues while playing speciefic camcorder, the problems appear with transitions. Dundurs

Quote:* A single shortcut can be used to trigger an unlimited number of shortcuts. Thanks for looking at my suggestion in post #32. New suggestions: - Allow VideoList not run all videos automatically. - Add button "auto-calculate duration" to suggest the duration of the text "title-TickerHD" according to the amount of words. - Save "Video delay" in window "videoList or DelayList" to take up less space in the input row. - Create a dynamic title, allowing you to use content from news channels of the Internet "feeds". Mauro.

Some more features being added:
* Fix for flickering on first frame of video delay * Overlays now support MultiView (to combine multiple inputs into a single overlay). SD and HD editions only. * Shortcut button option to increase or decrease scoreboard values. * Virtual GenLock improvements

Have not had a chance to play with v4, as hockey season doesn't start till October and my trial period has expired, but I am looking forward to the new features. I would like to see a customizable scoreboard feature with a countdown clock/timer if that is at all possible. I currently use Xnote Stopwatch that I have to use a screen capture input as an overlay for the clock, my own PNG graphic as an overlay for the scoreboard, and 2 PNG graphic overlays for each of the scores. Thus it's my own custom scoreboard, but it uses all 4 overlays at once. It would be more convenient to use only one overlay and have shortcut keys to start/stop the clock and change the score on the fly. For a better understanding of what I am talking about you can see footage from our last game here: http://justin.tv/golivenow/b/312754551So I would like to be able to customize the scoreboard with team logos and such (and perhaps also add a secondary penalty clock when applicable). Is any of this possible with the XAML files that vMix uses. I would attempt some of this myself if I knew how to edit and create these files, but I'm more familiar with the graphical software from Adobe like photoshop and fireworks, not Visual Basic or Expression Blend. Keep up the great work!

Only 1 request for v5 To improve the usability of the GUI interface, clicking on the Preview Window or Output Window is a shortcut to Quick Play. With this feature added, using a touch screen monitor will be a better experience. [the Quick Play button is too small for quick switching work] A thousand thanks if this feature could be added in v5.

Unfortunately, any previews in the web interface (static or otherwise) would slow vMix to a crawl.

Hi martin,
Would it be possible to include in de multi-view options also multiviews of different sizes with no overlap: preferably a big one with 2 or 3 small windows to the left of right.
A: #1 would be big (size 4:3) and then #2 (aligned to the bottom of 1), #3 and #4 small on top of #2 B: #1 would be big (size 16:9) with #2 at the base of #1 and #3 on top of #2
and then also reversed (C and D) so big to the right en small to the left.
This would be extremely helpfull for lecture capturing and meetings with powerpoints and presentations: slides in the big screen and video in the small screen with banner (pict) option above the video.
I can do this with the overlay feature but I don't seem to get is aligned very well and I do want to use the complete output.
I do have some issues with the multi-view because when I have 2 inputs I can only select the other input and assign it to a number, the rest is set to none. So i can not set the input on which I set the multi-view. Am i doing something wrong (help does not help...)
for your info: I now use a very compact recording setup for capturing meetings: a laptop with i7 2nd Gen and SSD with 2 USB3.0 inputs to blackmagic running Vmix. For the powerpoint capture I use a separate laptop connected with a cross-over cable as a dedicated P2P network and input as desktop capture (at '25' fps if I want). This way i can use the WIFI as a separate network connection (I can send the powerpoint wireless to the beamer and/or use remote control for Vmix). Sound is input through a sennheiser wireless mic and receiver mounted on the camera and input with the HDMI signal to the mixer. If I want I can connect a second camera or I can input the VGA through a scaler to s-video over blackmagic (in case I can not use my own PP laptop with the powerpoint and I need to input VGA or an apple).
A challenge is hooking up an apple since I do not have a remote capture server for apple (would that be possible?)
An other (minor) suggesion (if I may) would be a new recording file button: if i want to start a new presentation on a separate file I now stop and start the recording: but if I don't start the recording on time or something goes wrong, I don't record. A special option would be a start recording in a new file button.
thanks Stefan

The best approach when creating a MultiView is to add a colour input or an image input to use as the background. Then you can go to the MultiView settings of this input to select up to 5 other inputs and use the Position tab to move these around as required.

That did the trick for me as well when i needed to modify my pips, it's just a little hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for.
I know v5 is coming too close for a feature request, but i'll put it in anyway since i think it's a low inpact one (and maybe the option exists, but i can't find it (again))
refresh an input image throug the API.
My workflow is generate an image ( ladder of a dragrace eg. ) with gd , load it, and overlay it the image always has the same name, so it would be much easier to have my gd script call the api, refresh the image and open the overlay. (the last step can be done already)
if i can refresh (or close/load an image) through the api it will all go automagically and i will have more time to make my shots.
thanks
M@ik
