Hi
The BLAB screen can be captured (Desktop Capture) as an input, I am wondering how can I capture the audio from the BLAB conversations and send them to my output.
I would like to employ BLAB for online discussions during the intermissions of our hockey broadcasts.
Thanks
Whit

Have you tried routing the audio using a virtual cable?

I really don't have my head around this whole mix minus thing (Skype) but will toy with it now that you mention it is a possibility. Not ure about configuration. BLAB out via Virtual Cable 1 and use this as an input ? Thanks Whit

Yep. I haven't looked at Blab but I suspect it is like other apps, so that's what I would try. If Blab allows you to define the output source send it off to Virtual connection

If you need help getting your head around mix minus in principle, Vance Willis' video is a great start:

Being WebRTC-based BLAB doesn't allow you to select the audio output device.
That means that for now you must use something like Virtual Audio Cable, VB-Cable or VoiceMeeter to provide the necessary audio signal routing.

On first attempt I did get the audio from BLAB recorded in vMix. Unfortunately it had an echo. There must be something more to it than my simplsitic approach. Aslo thinking if I want to be part of the conversation ...... All I did was assign the defualt playback device on my computer to be Line1, and then added Line1 as an input to vMix. Any pointers for this non audiophile? Thanks whit

That would create echo all right. vMix uses the default playback device as its master output and its headphone output by default. So you're feeding that back in as an input and thus the echo.
How about this - go to vMix -> Settings -> Audio Outputs and change the settings for Master Output and Headphones. Maybe you could route those to a second Virtual Audio Cable and then route that to your headphone port so you can monitor.
