I am trying to record the final output to a file but the audio always stops before the video. Regardless of how long the video is there will be no audio the last little bit of the video. This happens when you try to use the video in Adobe premiere, after effects, or media encoder. When I play it in the preview window of windows 7 the audio will play but not when you import the video into premiere for editing.
Has anyone else seen this sort of problem?

So far I have only found one setting that will generate an avi file that windows media player or premiere will play. With the default settings I could not view or import the file. The current settings are: Settings/Decoders/mpeg 2 video: MainConcept(adobe2)Mpeg video decoder Use vMix is checked Settings/Decoders/mpeg audio: MainConcept(adobe2)Mpeg video decoder Settings/audio/Default Audio Renderer: Default DirectSound Device
On the recording setup tab Codec: DV Video Encoder File Format: AVI Audio Device: vMix Virtual Audio Capture Audio Format: 44100 Hz 16 Bit 2 Channels I am running windows 7 64bit and Vmix is the latest version but it still has an issue with the audio not recording correctly due to the 44Hz vs. the 48Hz issue. When I bring the audio into the computer on the mic input it is very choppy and scratchy. You can’t understand what is being said. If you bring the audio in through one of the camera inputs the audio is ok. I haven’t been able to use the program on a live event thus far but would like to before purchasing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just my 2 cents: I think you could benefit from using an external audio card, both in quality and reliability...

hi greg, to avoid audio issues in w7 x64, make sure if your device supports 48khz recording. right click in the audio icon, on the right of start bar, go to "Recording Devices", double click your device and in advance tab select 48khz. however, make sure too if your drivers are the latest. regards, melody www.espiritosanto.cc

Thanks Melody, I tried that but still have the same results. another odd thing that is occuring is if I choose mpeg rather than avi the video playes very fast for several seconds and the audio playes normal. When the video hits the last frame it shows the last frame of video but the audio will continue to play normal.

Hi Greg, Can you double check you have downloaded and installed the latest version on this page: http://www.vmix.com.au/download.aspxThere was an audio issue in v2 on some computers, but it has been fixed. Regards, Martin vMix

Martin I do have the latest version installed. I tried to find the version in the software but could not. The reason I know, is that I can now choose 2 rolls for the imputs. If I remember correctly version 2 did not have that in it.
Thanks for all your help.

Martin Do you have a program for a clean uninstall being I have the latest version? I did uninstall the version 2 before installing the version 3 but I am sure there were some registry entrys that were left. I know the audio was there because I had adobe flash live media encoder make a file. When I checked it the audio was there for the full video.

hi greg, you can use Revo Unistaller to completly remove vmix from your computer, including registry entries, folders, etc... then, restart your machine and install vmix. it may be sufficient. regards, melody www.espiritosanto.cc

Hi Greg,
Uninstalling vMix is not necessary to ensure it is the latest version as long as it says 7.3.0.86 in the title bar it will be the latest version. If I am understanding correctly the audio and video record fine and playback correctly in windows media player except that in adobe premiere that last few seconds of audio are missing?
If so you could try converting the AVI file to another format using the various converter tools out there or alternatively just make sure each recording is 30 seconds longer than you need.
Regards,
Martin vMix

Martin As I checked the one file I recorded, it is longer than a few minutes. On a 59 minute file the audio stopped around the 46 minute mark. Any other suggestions on how to correct this in VMix? I will try a converter tool but if I purchase this program and start using it on a regular basis. I will need it to record the file correctly so I am not out any more time trying to get a final file.
Greg

Hi Greg,
I have not been able to re-create the issue so far so it looks like a unique issue with that particular computer unfortunately. I suggest trying some other codec besides the DV Video Encoder to see if that helps.
