I'm trying to add my new Cannon camera as an input into vMix. When I try I don't see it as an option in the drop down.

http://prntscr.com/92hw68

I've installed the Capture cards and the software drivers

http://prntscr.com/92hwgm
http://prntscr.com/92hwkq

and I've charged my Cannon cameras overnight so the battery is charged. I've also tried all the slots for the HDMI cable, restarted windows multiple times to no avail.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!!

Looking at your first screen shot, the Blackmagic Intensity Pro isn't recognized by vMix.

What happens when you run one of the Blackmagic programs such as Media Express? Does it recognize the Intensity Pro and display video?

If it does, shutdown vMix then try restarting vMix and see if the Intensity Pro is on the drop down after the restart.

@ vmixnewbie

When dealing with Blackmagic Design capture devices, the first order of business in trouble shooting is to insure that the product works with "Media Express" (Blackmagic Design's software that gets installed with the installation CD of your product or maybe now it's a download) since that is what Blackmagic will want to know before they offer any kind of support. If it doesn't work there, then you have an issue with the card and/or BMD. If it works there, but not with vMix, it might be a setting somewhere and you can trouble shoot that.
In any event, something appears to be amiss with your installation since it doesn't look like the 'Intensity Pro' isn't recognized by vMix yet (it should appear in the dropdown), which likely means it's not recognized by your computer yet and wont work with "Media Express" either.
I am not up to date on the current installation procedures for the 'Intensity Pro', but I would look into that and insure that you have all the tools and software they include to make sure the product works for you properly.

Driver in your screen shot looks like a 2007 version.

Go to the BM support site and download the latest Desktop Video app. This includes the latest drivers. Once installed you have to configure the card using the Desktop Video Utility. Then confirm you can see the feed in Media Express. Finally add as an input to vMix.

Thanks for your help. I've tried like crazy to find the app you mentioned. I ended up downloading Blackmagic_Desktop_Video_Linux_10.3 (1).7.tar, from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support which I couldn't open unless I downloaded 7 zip which extracted the files but my computer won't run any of the files in the subsequent folders. I've never heard of *.deb files.

http://prntscr.com/92qxib
and
http://prntscr.com/92qxot (there are many more screenshots I could have taken)

Not sure what to do with these?

I don't know why you can't find the newest drivers for the intensity pro capture card. I've attached the folder that I was able to extract but I'm not sure where to go from here.

Any ideas??

Try this link:
https://www.blackmagicde...b93d7fe6f79c9151/Windows

That should be the Windows version of the newest version, as found on this page. It looks like the file you previously downloaded was for Linux operating systems.

DYosua thank you so much! This is quite the process!

So according to @ask I then need to somehow get the desktop video utility. I appreciate both of your support here! :)

Tom Sinclair from http://easternshorebroadcasting.com/ saved the day for me. Turns out the driver in installed from Blackmagic was 10.5 and wasn't compatible with my version of Windows (v7).

He helped restore my machine and got it to work again.

Now my challenge is to get vmix to recognize the new cannon vixia 600 camera with my blackmagic intenstiy pro card. This is the error I get.

http://prntscr.com/92v4hq

and here are the settings from when I tried to add it as an input.

http://prntscr.com/92v4lq

The instructions on this page below don't seem to help much.

http://www.vmix.com/help...putwithIntensityand.html

I clicked on the Blackmagic intensity like so...

http://prntscr.com/92v4xl

and this is what I got.

http://prntscr.com/92v51j

By the way, if any of you need a point man for this type of stuff, Tom is your man. He's been awesome to work with!

I'm making progress but still not there yet. Anybody have any tips?

I am using a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card and it is working with no problems.

What card slot in your PC have you got your card plugged in to, it should be plugged in to a PCIEX1 or a PCIEx16 graphics slot for it to work a be recognised. If you have installed your card in to a PCI slot it won't work.

See pic below 2 pictures pic 1 is of the BM control panel of my card and pic 2 is of a motherboard and the card slots where the BM card should be in Red arrows.
Len56 attached the following image(s):

Thanks Len56. I will look at my slots and try to determine what they're called. I'm not sure it says but thanks for letting me know about that! :)

@Len56 it looks like I'm using the PCIEX1 slots in my computer. I'll keep working at it. Thanks for your thoughts!

You are not the first to have an issue with the 'Intensity Pro' not being recognized by your computer.
A quick google search will reveal multiple forums with similar issues.
I would explore some of them to see if your issue is the same, looks like it might be a MB or chipset incompatibility problem.

The BMD 'Desktop Video Utility' should recognize your card and there should be other options in the 'Camera' dropdown when adding an 'Input' in vMix...

In addition to "Decklink Video Capture" I also have "Intensity Pro 1" and "Blackmagic WDM Capture"

Thanks Ice Stream for this info. I read through them all. I found it interesting what they said in the first link about the bios as well as the 3rd link about the command lines to type into the command prompt. I bought 3 of these capture cards off ebay and none of them are recognized by my system so far. I've tried all 3 of the cards in all 3 PCIe slots and nothing. I think my only hope is to try these comman line prompts?

Ahh, That's worrying me that you said you bought your 3 cards from ebay and you can't get any of them to work, they may be bad cards. The only thing I can think of is to buy a card from a proper dealer and see if it works.
