Hello,

We have 2 ASUS laptops almost identical. (ROG, i7, Win 8.1 etc).

The only difference is the graphic card (one is GTX 970M and one is GTX 870M -- latest drivers)

The problem is vMix have big differences for the rendering time ( 1 ms and 37 ms ) when tested without any input. The situation is worst if there are camera inputs.

Can anyone please advice where to look to check the cause for that big difference ?
What can be wrong on the 37ms one ? Is it possible for the graphic card to be damaged in any way ? Can I check that ?

Thank you for your support,
Clement

@ ClementN

How do the cards differ in a stress test such as "FurMark"?

http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/

I would think that both cards should perform reasonably well, but perhaps the 870 is somewhat defective or malfunctioning and that just might show up in the stress test.

Thank you very much, Ice.

I did the tests ( fullscreen, dynamic camera, fullHD) but as I didn't make this test before I am not sure if something is wrong or not.

There are differences between the 2 cards

870M -- FPS average: 17 ; temp: 87 ; score: 1165

980M -- FPS average: 38 ; teamp: 67 ; score: 2635

I think that the FPS 17 is too low but I am not sure if it is ok or not.

Any advice ?

Clement, not sure wich laptop you have, but the ROG's can usually have the Graphics card overclock. If so, may be it's not enabled on the 980M

Thank you, Richard, Ice.

The only solution was the reinstall of Win 8.1 with the latest mVidia driver.

Don't know the cause of the problem.
