vMix 2012 v3 is coming soon and while it is a smaller release there are a couple of notable new features it will include:
* Shortcut Interface for iPad, Galaxy Tab and any other touch screen mobile/tablet device. The interface lists all the shortcuts configured in vMix as a simple grid for easy access.
* Additional Transition Effects So far, Fly, CrossZoom and FlyRotate effects have been added, please post descriptions of the transitions you would like to see here.
The following bugs will also be fixed:
* Fixed image quality issue when recordings are scaled down on nVidia graphics cards (ATI is unaffected) * Settings for overlay buttons 3 and 4 were lost when closing vMix.
Suggestions for small additional features not already covered elsewhere can also be posted here.
Thanks,
Martin vMix

Hi Martin, I suggest transitions "flip, blinds, door, strip and clock." You can add borders to overlay or PIP?
Sincerely,
Mauro Cesar

Thank you, Martin.
Cameras capture images left-right inverted (mirror mode), is it possible to add? A very simple function, but that feature is very helpful for actors.

I'll get a touch screen LCD monitor for use with Vmix. Will it work, or should have bought iPad?
Four overlays supported at the same time. This could be used to create Virtual Set? Have you thought about creating a module for that?
Sincerely,
Mauro Cesar

Hi Mauro,
vMix already includes a "Shortcuts" window that can be used with a touch screen LCD monitor. (the icon with the four squares in the bottom right hand corner of vMix) Also, all main window buttons can be used with a touch screen LCD monitor as well.
Regards,
Martin vMix

Hello, Martin,
Just to remind: 1. RTMP reconenct would be really cool (or alternatively Restart buttons could do this), just so that we dont have to close the input each time it is unable to reconnect to server. Also it would be great if last used rtmp urls could be saved simialr to vido input tab where last used videos are saved. 2. Input size changes to see more inputs at once 3. Timeleak 1.30 driver problem - tried everything with no success, perhaps I can give some technical information from you to the developers of driver so they can solve this problem? 4. Make vMix Virtual audio device work with FMLECMD in WinXP SP3 compatibility mode if posible

Ideas:
1. All windows resizable.
2. User configurable GUI colors.
3. Store the size/position of the program window in the preset. I have to resize the program every time I run Vmix to make it fit the way I want on my desktop.
4. Bigger buttons on the input preview windows.
5. ESC exits fullscreen.
6. User created wipe patterns. Could use a .png file?
7. Option to single click an input to send to preview, double click sends to program output. Right click brings up options such as restart, properties, etc.
Thanks!

Hi Martin,
-free positioning and resizing the pip location (without using top/left/right/bottom) -direct access in main window to zoom, wipe, slide transition. (button for each) -dockable windows on the main Vmix windows for the audio mixer, shortcuts pad..etc. -fix for aliasing problem in the recorder (mpg2) -Possibility to mute all sounds coming from the computer in Vmix virtual capture device (windows sounds, clicks, internet..etc.)

Hi Martin,
- (configurable) shortcuts for the main buttons - possibilty to connect the delay to an input channel instead of the hardcoded output - possibility to get the data in the titles from an external file iso configure it in VMix/Xaml (so that another source, e.g. a Twiiter app can deliver content to the title) - possibilty to define a custom image as a default background for the zoom transistions (so that you see e.g. a logo instead of a black background)
Regards,
Hanno.

Thanks, I will try that.
Regarding running more than one vMix virtual output on the same computer: I now have a very specific need to produce 4 different live broadcasts (each has different overlay) on the same computer (i7 16GB RAM) and stream them using FMLE. Any other way to address this? Perhaps using some paralel OS?

To mute all external sounds, use the mixer built in to Windows 7.
1. Click the Speaker icon on the bottom right hand corner and select "Mixer" 2. Here you can mute "System Sounds" and any other program currently running.

Martin vMix

Many over charges, but Martin errors Vmix2012 and is the best on the market. but if you want more, add solvent PIPI PIP with frames, for more elegance and presentation. not only the PIP box, Square. a circle or oval PIP would be good Thank you for your good work

I realize it may be somewhat difficult to implement and if it is then its ok, i'm not complaining. But if it wouldn't be to hard, having more control over what audio sources on the computer are picked up by vmix audio capture would be really nice when one would like to do other things with the same computer while you are running the stream. Such as previewing a dvd, previewing an audio file, etc... using the windows audio mixer to mute them defeats any testing one might want to do on the fly.

Hi Martin,
An additional request regarding delays.
Would it be posible to create an option (via a setting or something) which stops the 'record' of the delay as soon you put the delay in preview?
That makes it possible to select the correct start position / fragment in the buffer before sending it to the output. Typically your buffer is larger then the actual fragment for replay, because you need some time to decide. Thereby not for every replay you want to use the complete buffer.
In the current situation, the delay buffers changes while searching in preview mode, which makes it very volatile and sometimes inpossible to select the correct fragment.
I'll hope it's clear.
Kind regards, Hanno.

Martin,
Thank you for the "Video Delay" feature playing slow motion. By right click on the video delay input, I can select the slow motion speed. How's about allowing fast motion speed select also?
Michael.

There are some Video Delay enhancements coming in the v3 release. One of them is to stop the buffer from updating, so you can play/pause and position a video delay clip without it constantly updating.

Hello, Martin,
A couple of additional features that we would very much appreciate and others might also find useful:
1. Add a checkbox for video input that would make the video always play from the start and never from the middle (if it was started before). This would be very helpful in case of playing ads which always start from the beginning and must be played many times during the broadcast. 2. Add a feature for a video input to override any other audio that is being played. This would also make displaying video ads much easier. At this point to display a video ad, we have to turn off capture device input audio (we cannot use automatically mix audio, because we have more cameras and other cameras do not produce audio) and then switch to video ad. After that we have to switch back to camera and turn on the audio, which also does not look good on the live video since there is a secnd of silence.
We also have had a problem of "video delay loop": 1. selected video delay input 2. selected capture input 3. the preview did not change to capture input but the delay kept looping. the funny thing is that audio did change to selected input while video did not and delay just kept looping 4. closed video delay input which solved the problem This happened during a live production and this time with no hard consequences (such as vMix crashing), perhaps you can investigate this issue.
Thanks, Dundurs

MULTIPLE MONITORS CAN USE FULLSCREEN PROGRAM, PREVIEW OR ANY VIDEO INPUT In addition to sending the program output to full screen on a second monitor, how about the ability to select the preview or any video input to a second monitor or third monitor.
When selecting second or third monitor list the hardware ID of the monitor in addition to a number.
Keep up the good work!
