Oops, i mistyped while reordering the sentence. I wanted to write "there have been no updates from my side" and then decided to change it to "there may be updates from others"... sorry pal, i'm done with this project since i got promoted to a very exciting job that just doesn't leave much time for coding any more (just have been to edinburgh last week professionally...).

Which version of vMix are you running?

Things to check: is web interface in vMix enabled? is correct port set? can you connect to that port from other programms, e.g. your browser? is there a firewall that might block the communication?

Ok, so i found a little time to analyse vMix 14 in a demo setup on my new laptop. It seems that there have been changes to the api, which will prevent vMixController to connect to vMix (one item was removed that vMixController expected to find). I did a little workaround, please try this version:

http://www.weir3d.de/fil...uler/alpha_07_14_102.zip

This works in my - very limited - tests on my windows 7x64 system.

Sorry for all who have been waiting, my work & my family are my main priorities, and i officially abandonned this project long ago...

Hmm, that's strange. Can you do me a favour? Connect to vMix through your webbrowser and call the API readout, and post it (or send it to me). To do that, you'll have to enter the URL of your vMix webinterface and add "/api" to it, e.g. enter

"http://127.0.0.1:8088/api"

into the adress-bar (that's assuming you have vMix running locally on the same machine and didn't change the default port 8088 of the webinterface).

You should see something like this as a result:

I am going to look deeper into it, but the first thing i noticed is the different version of vMix. I've been testing with the slightly newer version 14.0.0.102, while you are running 14.0.0.101. I don't know if that's the reason, but it can't hurt to update your vMix version to the latest while i'm examining your xml file closer.

Just updated. Same thing.

Also need to note that Scheduler is not pushing anything to the Controller.

When push to Schedule is clicked I get the Success! dialog box but nothing is generated in the Controller. Reload Schedule in the controller doesn't populate anything.

I build a little debug-version that should help us get closer to the source of the problem. Please download the attached file and decompress it, it contains only vMixControlerDebug.exe, you have to put it in the same place where you put the rest of vMixControler files.

After you run it, it should print a more helpful message box, which i ask you to screenshot for me.

Hmm, that's probably another unrelated problem. Both programms communicate indirectly through a common schedule file, maybe there are some new restrictions in win 8 that i'm not aware of... we'll look into this a little later, but first we need to get vMixController running and connecting :-)

There is a special folder that both programms use to read/write schedule data; it should be located at "c:\user\all users\vMixScheduler" . Please verify if this folder is there, and if it contains some files. It should at least contain "Settings.xml" and "vMixSchule.xml", and probably a number of logfiles as well. But chances are that windows again changed their folder structure to give us programmers a hard time... :-/

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

You still got this from the debug-version of vMixController?!

That's very peculiar! Do you get this right when you start it, or only after you press "connect"? The debug-info given in this text comes from the system itself, not from my programm - it claims that there is an "unhandled exception" when you press the button "bn_connect", which is the connect button, but i have an exception handler in place that should catch any exceptions in this part of the programm...

The only other thing i can think of now is a misconfiguration or missing part of .net, which is used as a basis for vMixController.

Did you find the folder i mentioned before? Are there any logfiles in it?
