MSI Z690-A Pro
MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB
32GB DDR4-3200
Samsung 500GB 970 Evo Plus M.2
2x Blackmagic Decklink Duo 2
I built this system beginning of january and it was running well with 6 cameras and 2 outputs. After 6 days of production with no changes in preset and hardware i noticed render time peaks, which wasn´t there in the beginning. The System is running usually with 7-9ms and now it get every 10 seconds a 30ms render time for a second.
Even after a complete new windows installation and using all hints of the list "Diagnosing High Render Times" of vmix the problem still occure.
Did somebody has a similar problem or has an idea what i can do?
Thank you!
The MSI Z690-A Pro motherboard allocates the i7-12700K's 20 CPU PCIe lanes solely to:
PCIe slot 1 = GPU = x16
and M.2 slot 1 (M2_1) = Windows SSD = x4
Consequently, the two DeckLink Duo 2 cards end up in PCIe slots connected to the Z690 chipset,
whereas they should ideally be connected to the CPU PCIe lanes, as recommended by vMix.
Therefore, you need to replace the motherboard and switch the RAM to DDR5,
because no Z690 DDR4 motherboard can split the PCIe lanes to allow capture cards to be installed in slots connected directly to the CPU.
You need a Z690 DDR5 motherboard that distributes the i7-12700K's 20 CPU PCIe lanes like this:
PCIe 1 = x8 (GPU)
PCIe 2 = x8 (capture card)
M2_1 = x4 (Windows M.2 SSD)
There are two solutions:
Solution 1:
Install an MSI MPG Z690 Carbon or ASRock Z690 Taichi motherboard
and replace the two DeckLink Duo 2 cards with a single DeckLink Quad 2 card.

Install an Asus ProArt Z690 Creator motherboard
add a Dual M.2 PCIe SSD adapter card (PCIe x8) to the second PCIe slot
and enable x4/x4 bifurcation mode for that slot in the BIOS
connect the two DeckLink Duo 2 cards to the Dual M.2 PCIe SSD adapter card using M.2-to-PCIe x4 riser cables

you will need a PC case with vertical expansion slots to mount the DeckLink Duo 2 cards externally.
