At church, we had one computer displaying content on the local screens and one computer running vMix for streaming to the world. PTZ and stream control cues were sent to vMix over the network from the first computer. Life was good. To cut costs, one new computer was purchased to replace the two old computers - both applications run on the same computer and provide the same functionality. However, the MIDI cues are not working. Since the big change was hardware, I believe the issue is configuration.
Does anyone know how to setup vMix to process MIDI commands from another application rather than from another device?
Any information, insights, etc are truly appreciated.
Thanks

You would need some bridge between Midi and vMix. Years ago I did a demo of how this could work. Maybe you can take away something.

With both applications running on the same PC, wouldn't Windows 11 provide the bridge?
I need configuration information for the case where the MIDI shortcuts are internally generated in the PC - not from an external device.

For a control surface you could use touchOCS. It is widely supported.

Have you installed RTP-MIDI? I'd bet you had that on the old systems passing the MIDI commands between them.

Yes, a bridge is needed. We had been using rtpMIDI, but it did not get reconfigured for the new hardware configuration. Reconfiguring rtpMIDI using localhost and the application port number made it work.
