Will there be a new tier? Or will it be used to further differentiate Pro/Max from 4K? Or was it just an inadvertent inclusion from a testing phase that didn't make the cut?

The reason it is not documented is because in the real world is 8k not all that usable, even on the very latest hardware, so it is there to facilitate each testing by 3rd parties.

It is available in the dropdown list for testing only, but officially vMix is only supported for use in up to 4K productions.
