I just noticed, for the first time, 8K in the resolution selection, though as a 4K license holder, I'm not eligible to try it.
Will there be a new tier? Or will it be used to further differentiate Pro/Max from 4K?
Or was it just an inadvertent inclusion from a testing phase that didn't make the cut?

This is not new in vMix 28, and in fact you can select these resolutions just fine in vMix Pro or Max (not vMix 4K).
The reason it is not documented is because in the real world is 8k not all that usable, even on the very latest hardware, so it is there to facilitate each testing by 3rd parties.

Thank you for your reply. During use, I found that creating an 8K project is not allowed, as I am a user of the vMix 4K version. a.png (191kb) downloaded 44 time(s).

I get the same error--hence my earlier inquiry about version compatibility.

Apologies, I have corrected my reply, vMix 4K does not support 8K, you will need Pro or Max

Please note that 8K is still not officially supported by vMix so will not be mentioned in any documentation as a result.
It is available in the dropdown list for testing only, but officially vMix is only supported for use in up to 4K productions.
