I’ve built a small OMT Player for Windows that lets you receive OMT streams (video + audio) directly over the network. The app is based on the official libomtnet SDK (thanks Martin) and uses NAudio for audio playback.
Features
-automatic discovery of OMT sources in the local network
-video rendering in a window (BGRA)
-audio playback (48 kHz, stereo)
-simple UI with Refresh / Connect / Disconnect
Download & Installation
Download ZIP(edit):
-Unzip into any folder
-Run OMTplay-Setup
Notes:
If no source is detected (while one is running), please check your Windows Firewall. In my case, disabling the firewall or creating a rule for omtplay.exe solved the issue.
Tested with vMix (default OMT settings) – the player receives around 50–70 Mbit/s.
Runs smoothly even over WiFi6 on my setup.
(edit)
My OMTplay will only run on x64 processors.
i tested it in my local 1Gb Network, on two Win11 and a Win10 PC, all Intel with 64-bit operating system.
Since this is still very new and untested, I do not guarantee its use in production environments :-)
(edit2)
it also runs on my Asus RTX4080 Laptop and my tiny little Acer Office PC. But my little Acer, Core Ultra 5, is then hard working, CPU 60%.
(This test is going over WiFi6 , 160Mbits per connection! Your Wi-Fi must be able to deliver this.. )
no more Defender false alarms so far, from version 1.0.0.3 on.
1.0.0.4 is the same, but hides the cursor in full screen
(edit3)
it also runs on a 2017, 10x10cm Intel I5 Nuc. But the little machine has to work hard, CPU 80%. Intel 620 graphics, no stuttering on full screen.
