Hello,

Most of the tally systems are reading info from the main mixer.

However, nowadays we use submixers in 100% of our productions (MIX 2, 3, 4 and more with version 26). If camera is live in a submixer, it makes sense not to light up a tally until the submixer is put on the main program.

So, I think it would be just perfect if the tally on the main program shows when an input is live in a submixer, AND this submixer is live on program.

This is: we use MIX2 for a picture in picture composition. If CAM1 is live on MIX2, AND MIX2 is ON AIR, TALLY for the main program should send the signal ON for CAM1.

Does this make sense?

YES!!!

I have the same problem ... my solution is a app reading the vmix-api and send the tally signal to all cam's .. incl. multiple on air cam's. ... but, its not the best way.

It's not only about tally but the possibility to have triggers of any kind enabled. It should be possible to decide if triggers work for each Mix seperately.
This has an effect on audio switching for eg vMixCalls in a PiP, tally in vMix but also via NDI (we use NDI tally for our Panasonic PTZ) as well as triggers in an input.

I know that there are many use cases where you dont want triggers, but also multiple where they are needed to use the sub mixes in a good way.

And I suggest it could be implemented as a right-click option in the Mix Input. For example, "Forward tallys to Output" or something similar.

Same here. I tried to address this by managing Tally via TallyArbiter - but the config effort is to high IMHO.

I basically reaplced submixes with Companion's "Routable Multiview" Feature (see https://trendmicro-my.sh...DwtYaHEROhPubQ?e=vHKT7d) for a recent event. This isn't as nice because I ended up with CUT transitions only ... but it did kind of work.

I do however have usecases where I cannot/don't want to replace Submixes but still need tally ... Esp. in virtual set environments (think IMAG in virtual sets :-) )

CU,

Udo
