Hi vMix,

We have met a situation where it were a need to be able to set the audio level individually on each entry in the list.

I Hope others find this usable.

Thanks in advance

+ 1 we get stuff sent in by clients that they've edited and it's all over the place, we try to use auto gain for it but this would be good

Is this for consistency, or to push the audio to foreground / background per cut?

For consistency you could apply audio compressor at a gentle 3:1 ratio with a threshold around -20 to -30.

I have never had any luck with the compressor, it always misses a little from the beginning, so it is very loud for a second but after that, level is fine. I believe it could work if the files are mastered kinda same, but one of my clients sends me -23 LUFS (TV) and 0 dB (Web) clips, which is a quite headache.

Hmm.. I see quick resolve is to write VB.Net script for vMix scripting. It's gonna be endless loop which acquire vMix XML, parse it, gets list index and set Lis volume to desired value, as described in some .txt file.
It is a challenge for me.

If one wants the audio levels of list items to be "equal" one could use a free plugin or your production for that matter there seems to be a new free cool plugin https://github.com/trummerschlunk/master_mehttps://github.com/trummerschlunk/master_me

+1 A +/- db column would be good so that it can be gained in rehearsals to make it roughly the correct level for each clip. There is a gain function for the whole list input, so all it needs to do is automatically change that value behind the scenes as you select each VT clip in the list.

I would like to be able to use the "List" function for my commercial breaks, but without individual audio level control, it's useless to me. I am forced to use the "Playlist" function that cannot be unpinned, and isn't as userfriendly.
