Hi, I am looking to build a computer that can gracefully handle inputs from 2 GH5's, with both inputs being in 4k. I would like to simultaneously use vMix as a video switcher, record locally in vMix to SSDs in 4k, and stream fromo vMix in 1080p, all from the same computer. I don't yet own vMix, but the 4k version currently seems to me to be the most economic and flexible option for this type of solution. Starting with the Ruby system as a reference ( https://www.vmix.com/products/vmix-reference-systems.aspx#ruby), what upgrades to Ruby, if any, would be needed to make such a system work gracefully with dual 4k inputs (apart from the video capture cards)? I would likely be using 2 PCIe cards, and am leaning towards using two Magewell Pro Capture HDMI 4k Plus cards, given that reviews of the much cheaper Blackmagic 4k HDMI cards tend to be quite negative (any advice there is welcome). Thanks for any help you can give!

@ droza If you haven't already, I would start by recommending you to watch the "vMix Fun Time Live Show from October 2016" for some insight into 4K producing with vMix. In terms of UPGRADE on the RUBY system, I would probably start with the GPU to a 1070 or 1080. Ice

If you want to record with intermediate codecs like ProRes or DNxHD/DNxHR go for M2/U2 disk interface for SSDs.

Thanks, this is very helpful advice. From the YouTube video, and the X99 discussion post, it looks like another important upgrade over Ruby would be the motherboard, with Martin currently recommending the Gigabyte GA-Z270X Gaming 9 motherboard ( http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z270X-Gaming-9-rev-10) for dual 4K work.
