Would it be possible to add groups for the web interface, rather like we already have for the inputs in vMix?

I was thinking each page of shortcuts could be a different colour.

When you create a shortcut, instead of the option to display in the web interface, have instead 4-6 checkboxes so you can choose which page/group of shortcuts each shortcut appears on?

This would help to de-clutter the web interface - and allow several tablets to be used to control different aspects of the production.

A very simple password protection (nothing fancy) for each group would be really great too - just to prevent casual access to the interface.

Thanks for an amazing application!

Hi Giles

an easy solution to do this is to use vMixUTC.
You can run it on several computers and add buttons triggering your shortcuts (using the keypress command for example)
It's very quick to setup, easy to use, works on very basic computers or windows tablets...

Hope this helps

Hi Dwam,

Thanks - I'll check that out - sounds good. I'm running Android devices for tablets, so it perhaps won't help with that, but I also use old laptops - which perhaps will do what I am thinking.

Thank You!
G.

I did basic tutorials to get users started with it

I quickly wrote a small tutorial for this. It's called "Howto use vMixUTC for triggering vMix shortcuts from remote computers"

Hope this helps

If you want to use your Android tablet, there are very simple solutions:

- create a local webpage and basically write down the links to the API command. For example:

http://yourvmixipaddr/api/?Function=KeyPress&Value=A
http://yourvmixipaddr/api/?Function=KeyPress&Value=B
http://yourvmixipaddr/api/?Function=KeyPress&Value=C

I cannot write down a working example of a link with the correct code in this post (content prohibited) but you can find this very easily.

Very basic. Not sexy but it works... ;o)

- Another option is to add these API links to shortcuts into your browser favorites. Absolutely no code required. Select a fav... Bim! Easy as pie!

- A more sophisticated solution is to use buttons in a web page with a little coding based on XMLHttpRequest. This can be done very easily by a webdev using javascript, jquery, ajax and so on. This method is more technical but it allows to click the buttons without leaving the page (exactly as vMix Web Controller).
