Anyone knows where to get a cheap HD 60p hdmi > sdi converter?

There's generally lots of cheap HDMI > 3G SDI converters on ebay & Amazon.

@Martin these don't support 1080p50/60. They're limited to 1080i50/60.  That's why I did not mention them. Besides Ittaidv knows them already. I think he's precisely looking for something else.

Don't know what to say really... either they're not all the same, or that you were unlucky, or that I have been lucky, because I have one which looks very like that and (after what you wrote today) I've just re-tested it to make sure, and it definitely supports 1080p50/59.94/60. My Magewell AIO card property panel is reporting the signal as 3G-A 4:2:2 YUV, and it's coming from the HDMI out of an on-board Intel graphics chip. Maybe they don't support RGB 4:4:4 at 50/60p, or some other variations of 1080p50/60, but if 4:2:2 YUV is all you need then they do work at 3G as you would expect - at least mine does :)

I agree these models are supposed to support 1080p50 but it seems it also depends on the capture card we're using. We've been discussing this in another topic: https://forums.vmix.com/....aspx?g=posts&t=9616I did a lot of tests with BMD Decklink Duo 2 with these chinese cheap converters and never got 1080p50 with them. As soon as I use another converter, it works fine (with same cameras and HDMI/SDI cables). In 1080p50 mode, the red led is blinking and Decklink shows 1080p25 with black screen and shows an image for a fraction of seconds from time to time. Also there are several versions/brands for these converters. I think I own 6 or 7, all bought on amazon, 2 of them don't even support 1080 signals, only SD (these have blue leds). The ones with red leds are ok, up to 1080i50 (with BMD Decklinks). So yes, maybe luck is a major factor to consider when buying these... ;o) Maybe the problem is Blackmagic capture card? PS: However I never tried them with an HDMI out of an on-board Intel graphics chip like you did, only Canon camcorders and Sony mirrorless cameras so far.

I use the Blackmagicdesign micro hdmi to sdi, there under $100 work great. i have like 8 of them, no problems.

Thanks for the tips!
We use those chinese ones now, but will probably go for the micro blackmagic ones now. They're about double the price, but will for sure do 60p without any troubles.

I always thought the 30/60p compatibility was depending on the chip used by theses converters.
Can't remember where i read that, but some users reported that these converter had either HD-SDI or 3G-SDI chip and it was totally random.
The newer one were 3G-SDI but there was a huge stock left of the old ones.
Be careful with the micro converter. They globally work fine, but i can't make them work with Sony Alpha hybrid, Edid problem. BM Mini converter work fine, but not Micro ones. I need to check if a new firmware came out though.
