I did Live production of coverage of 2017 Vote Counting for a Local News channel. Used Vmix 19 Beta with vmixcall as one of the input. My graphics were coming from Casparcg as NDI.Production lasted almost for 10 hours! with Vmix running flawlessly Hope you all will like it

@ jladnil

Quite the ambitious undertaking, well done!
Curious to know a little more about your workflow though...
It would appear graphics also played overtop of advertisement videos??? Although I'm not opposed to maintaining "live" update graphics on screen, I would be inclined to run the videos in a PiP window, much the same as your "regular" coverage.
Thanks for sharing.

AFAIK, the "PlayList" feature cannot be used as an Input for PiP "MultiView" usage. The better solution would be to use the "List" Input. In your situation, if time did not permit to properly set-up a PiP, I would have at least removed all the "Overlays" when running the commercials (I have an "emergency" 'Shortcut' key for this using the "OverlayInputAllOff" function to use if an Overlay is accidentally still on screen, but there is also a check box to do this when using the "PlayList").

@Ice

I just tried to set my overlay 4 as a PiP and to use it for a video playlist input. It works just like any other inputs.

@ jladnil

Another solution is to use your commercials playlist in a multiview, just as you did when there is debate between people.

You had a lot of information at the same time on screen. Sometimes it's better to simplify and to allow people to focus on one thing at a time.

I guess all the election results came in realtime from datasource, right ? Which format was it? Did you get the data over the internet from an official source or did you manage the thing on your own?

My understanding was that he was using the "PlayList" feature (button on lower menu bar at bottom of GUI) and not the "List" Input, and I am not familiar with a way to use the "PlayList" feature as an Input Overlay for "MultiView" effects. If there is a way, please advise, as that might also be a sort of solution for the threads dealing with "Switcher within a Switcher".

Yep Gregory my mistake. I always use list for video inputs, I didn't think about playlists. Maybe the use of list inputs is a more convenient choice for commercial videos btw as they simply need to be played from start to end and jump to the next one usually with cut and as they can be used more easily as overlays or inside multiviews.

Why would you need to switch inside a playlist when it is designed to auto play a scripted sequence in fullscreen?

The PlayList feature allows you to choose or alter the "Transition" you want to use between two Inputs in the list, which would possibly address Johan's "Fade" transition for "MultiView", but alas Guillaume, we digress from jladnil's Showcase share...

@DWAM
The election data was provided by our field reporters who were present at the vote counting stations which was fed into Casparcg via excel sheet
