vMixCall is WebRTC technology where the word "Web" means... internet! At least for initial connection. After connecting, communication can be direct between peers on the lan, but internet is required at first. How could you access www.vmixcall.com without internet?

If you are on a local network and need to connect systems, NDI might be the solution you are looking for. No internet required.

Go to https://www.newtek.com/ndi/applications/

Download and install NDIConnect (free version) on your PC with the webcam

Then select the webcam as the source and that's it. Your webcam is now a NDI stream over your network and vMix can open it.

Also I told you yesterday that you could use VLC for this. Did you try?

VLC can play your webcam in 1080 (we have advanced settings when selecting a capture device).
If you install NDI plugin for VLC then vMix can get your webcam as a NDI stream from a remote computer.

NDIConnect is an alternative way (maybe easier), but both solutions should give you the same quality.

I guess you're missing drivers for your webcam. Did you install optimized drivers or simply had a basic plug'n'play install for this webcam?

vMixCalls from a webpage are limited to 720p unless you use vMix to vMix setup.

I didn't know that VLC can play the webcam
works with 1080 (but only 5 fps)

VLC can play pretty much everything! That's the only thing to remember!

I don't play much with webcams but I know most of them can either run with UVC or MJPEG drivers where MJPEG delivers better frame rates.

This has been discussed in the forum and also in other forums over the internet. Try to look for information about your webcan model which I don't know at all.

BTW, I think that's the reason why NDIConnect couldn't get a 1080 resolution with your webcam. At full frame rate I guess only 480p is possible with UVC drivers.

If you have very little experience with webcams you should probably use another instance of vMix on the computer that has the webcam. That will give you control of the webcam properties. It will then let you pass the webcam stream to your main vMix via NDI.

What I understood about his question, with a vmix call function, from one vmix to another would be interesting to have this use without needing an internet or an intermediary if you are in a network structure 100mb and not 1000, it would be possible to work With differentiated projects and open a range for projects in structures that already exist.

Technologies are designed on a purpose with pros and cons, and requirements and use cases...

WebRTC was designed to allow realtime communications between browsers over the internet. Hence the name... WebRTC without the internet is a non-sense.

What you're talking about is NDI actually.

NDI Connect and Connect Pro support uncompressed webcam devices. Anything that is compressed currently doesn't appear in the list.

VLC Player with NDI plug-in can be make to work. I've found that you have to enter the frame rate in the advanced settings for the webcam device.
