When you have 8 concurrent calls on the go, the bandwidth requirements are fairly high. With this in mind, could the following ideas help? (#1 not mine btw!) :-

1) Would it be possible to implement some kind of control (for the host) to limit the incoming bandwidth from a remote caller? ... on the fly, rather like you can change the outgoing bandwidth settings? Perhaps this could be implemented as #2 below?

2) - Could shortcuts & triggers be implemented to enable the host to control in/out bandwidth settings for each caller?

EG:

Trigger on Input to PRV to set in and out resolution & bandwidth.
Trigger on Transition IN/OUT to set in and out resolution & bandwidth.
Same for Overlay IN/OUT.

The host could also define shortcuts to increase or decrease the resolution & bandwidth of callers manually.

This should enable the host to specify their own values rather than the pre-set values currently implemented.

In tests, the change from one resolution to another seems to take effect fairly quickly, so I think this could work without there being a jarring effect for the viewer. Also the host can put the full-screen call to preview before switching to air, to give the higher-resolution time to kick in.

Also, it could be possible to have different settings for Green-Room, Multi-View and Full Screen as appropriate, enabling hosts with restricted or paid-per-meg (eg. 4G) bandwidth to maximise its use efficiently.

This feature may make it possible to host more concurrent calls when bandwidth is limited/expensive.

3) The calls seem to work in the 16-235 luminescence range ... would it be possible for this to be the default colour setting when you add a new call input?

vMix call is a really great feature and will, I am sure, make vMix stand out from other products of its type. Thanks vMix!

All the best,
G.
