Hi,
I have an old Sony HDR-SR11 camera and just bought Blackmagic Mini Recorder 4K. It seems I can't get video from that camera in vMix.
However I do see video in Blackmagic Media Express and Blackmagic Control Panel shows me, that there is 1920x1080@50i signal on HDMI input.
I have no problem with this card and Canon G30.
Also, I did something like this in vMix: - connected Canon G30 camera to BMMR4K card with miniHDMI-HDMI cable - added HDMI input from BMMR4K, 1920x1080 50i, interlaced checked - I see the video - unplugged mini HDMI from Canon camera and plugged in mini HDMI to Sony camera - no video - again: unplugged Sony camera and plugged in Canon camera - the video shows again.
Any tips what should I check?

I'd try to change the HDMI cable or to boost HDMI one way or another. I guess you have an miniHDMI2HDMI adaptor somewhere in between the cam and the card, no ?
I use active HDMI boosters or any active HDMI i/o like a HDMI splitter might do the trick.

Exactly same issue with Overmax ActiveCam 3.2 (chinese gopro-like) cam. Only difference: it is 60i (i tried both NTSC 60i and NTSC 59.94i setting).
Media Express sees the video, vMix not.

So you are positive the 4K card works fine at least with your Canon HFG30?
Do you have any professional monitor indicating the very nature of the signal coming from these 2 cams?
Do you have an Edid device to force signal definition? It could help to make sure the signal is not wrongly signalized. Media Express could be more fault-tolerant ?
I know it's weird Media Express sees the video and not vMix, but I had such an issue with GoPro3 years ago. My Decklink could see something (though it was distorted and not usable) and the ATEM got nothing. I solved this issue with a $20 HDMI splitter which corrected the signal.

DWAM wrote:So you are positive the 4K card works fine at least with your Canon HFG30? Absolutely. Canon HF-G30's behaviour is completely plug and play. I can even set wrong resolution or framerate and I have video. DWAM wrote:Do you have any professional monitor indicating the very nature of the signal coming from these 2 cams?
Do you have an Edid device to force signal definition? No tool I could 100% sure say its professional, but just found on the attic an old HDMI scaller. It indicates the HDMI source is like I said earlier: - 1920x1080 50i - Sony camera - 1920x1080 60i - Overmax ActiveCam Same for indications by the Lilliput LCD.

Eureka (I hope so)! Both, Sony SR-11 and Overmax ActiveCam started to work, when I switched video format to RGB32. Actually the resolution and framerate didn't matter - I changed to 720, p or i, and video signal is still there. Update: 1. This issue looks similar https://forums.vmix.com/....aspx?g=posts&t=86652. Both cameras (sony and actioncam) work with chinese hdmi to sdi converter, with video format set to default or UYVY.

Have you tried RGB colour space, often when I am using a new hdmi source that only shows a black screen, switching to RGB solves the issue 99% of the time. Hope that helps as it has saved me lots of trouble shooting time with BMD cards.

SHMD, isn't it what I have written in previous post? :) To finish this thread: I guess it would be wise to mention the RGB color space issue in this knowledge base article: http://www.vmix.com/know...-using-a-blackmagic-cardI read it before posting this thread.

Ooops, sorry I missed that link in your post. ;) Just used RGB colour space today to get 2 GoPro5 cameras working with 4K feeds into BMD decklink 4K cards. -s
