Hello vMixers :)

We currently use an iPad app for a teleprompter but would like to see if it is possible to instead send an input (mirrored) direct to our iPad via NDI & Airplay. This would also give us some options to show PowerPoint slides (as prompts for adlib presentations) and even a video feed for remote interviews.

Anyone know a config/iPad app that might achieve this?

Hi Alex

first check NDI solutions for ipad
- on Sienna website http://www.sienna-tv.com/ndi/
- at Newtek http://www.newtek.com/ndi/applications

I'm not familiar with AirPlay but NDI underlies high bitrates. Wireless NDI is not impossible but it's not the best way imho.

Then you must understand that NDI also underlies client requests for selecting the NDI source.
Unless you are able to make all 3 sources (prompter, ppt, video) be a single NDI stream, your talents will have to "switch" the right NDI stream on the ipad. An easy way to do this is stream the "desktop" of a single computer that would air the prompter, the powerpoint and the videos. It would work but it is not the ideal solution for best quality (especially for videos).

Another solution to "route" any NDI signal to a destination is to use "NDIRouter" from zenvideo.co.uk. It will be available soon I guess.

Great news Martin! It is such a great tool for NDI, I love it!

I started to talk about it when I realized you mentionned it on your site. You should announce it in the 3rd party application section.
