vMix 2011 is the next release and will be available in the new year.
All existing customers will receive a free upgrade.
This release will be instead of vMix 2010 v9 and includes the following:
New Features
* Optimised for Windows 7.
* Two Overlay channels (not available in vMix Basic and Basic HD versions).
* Two new transition effects: wipe and slide.
* Support for custom vMix Tally Lights.
* Split AVI recording into multiple files.
* Ability to lock the mute status of inputs.
* Ability to edit basic settings (font/colour/size) of XAML inputs.
* WPF 3.5 Interop API allows developers to build their own input plugins. This could be used to build things such as countdown timers etc.
Improvements and Fixes
* Faster startup time.
* PowerPoint input now supports selecting transition interval.
* Fixed issue when looping QuickTime sources.
* Fixed error when importing GIF files.
* Fixed issue with XAML transparency looking degraded.
* Improved error handling. Many errors will now no longer require an application restart.
These features are largely set in stone with no new features expected in this release.
Time now is being dedicated to optimising the performance and reliability of this release.
