Tally Lights over Wifi in Vmix

I know tally lights over wifi is possible, however, we are running our vmix pc over ethernet. The PC does have wireless built in. Would enabling the wifi on it potentially override the ethernet when it comes to our streaming? http://www.vmix.com/help...dex.htm?TallyLights.html

It depends if your PC's wifi can behave as an Access Point (infrastructure mode) for several devices to benefit the service. Usually they can't...
Maybe an Ad-Hoc setup might suffice... I don't know, I never use this mode.
It also depends on how you manage your network and the routing options. I guess you really don't (otherwise you wouldn't ask)
The best way to have a usable wifi network is to use the router's wifi access point (which is infrastructure mode by default) - or a cheap wifi AP connected to your switch. When you do so, your network is both wired and wireless, all devices can communicate and share the same routing config.
Having multiple network connections on your vMix PC is possible when you understand routing and IP architecture. Otherwise you might get into trouble

Not sure I fully understand.
You should be able to manage manually how you connect to a network, once connected, I don't think one will "override" the other...
If WiFi is available on your network, it shouldn't matter to the "Web Controller Tally Light" feature whether wired or wireless.

I understood he wants to use his wifi integrated network card as an Access Point (without a real AP).
Some wifi network cards allow this but not often.

By that, you remain using the ethernet as connection for the PC, but allowing the wireless to devices to connect as tally via the WiFi of the PC. Im confused vmix call does tally lights and you can just overlay the call on the input you want the tally for and drag it off screen? what are you trying to do differently?

@Barney Box Lane Tally lights are used for camera operators/and host to let them know which camera is in preview or live mode. So the host/hosts knows where to look next while doing interviews or broadcast and also allows the camera operator to do any final camera adjustments (Focus etc..) before going live. The original question has nothing to do with vMix Call, as vMix Call did not exist when the question was posted 2 years ago, not sure where you go vMix Call from. sorry not the call, the web api. But yeah im not really sure what hes asking of it, Vmix already does tally lights in the web api.

(See the attached image) Our main system is based on an Asus Board with integrated WiFi and we were using the Hotspot function with Smartphones for Tally. Worked well. Of course using an Access Point is the better solution. ;) Regards Seb
