Hello, We are using the input "photos" a lot for simple slideshowing a folder. We use the effect merge and fade. The pictures has a different format (landscape / portrait,....), and we don't have the time to prepare it in photo editing software. When you have a big picture and afterwards a smaller one, the fade is not nice. Fading in the "new" picture is OK, but fading Out the "old" picture is not smooth, it is cutting out. Hope you have a solution.

Maybe you can try set all your images with the same size. With IrfanView for example, there is a batch resize feature which is very efficient. You can resize hundreds of images in seconds.

@ JohanSpijker
Not sure if it makes a difference or not but I am somewhat partial to the "CrossZoom" transition which combines the fade and zoom transitions.

You can also change the "duration" of the Fade effect which might help.
Click the drop-down arrow on the Fade button in the Transition Strip between Preview and Output. Look down at the bottom and you'll see "Duration Milliseconds." Change that to 1000 or 1500 or whatever works.
Any luck? Let us know.
