Hi all, I've been looking at building a new system and I see that the 1060 is a recommended card. Looking on Amazon I see there are two different models a 3Gb and a 6gb model and many different manufacturers. My question is, has anyone out there seen a performance enhancement getting the 6Gb over the 3Gb model. I would assume for future a bit the 6Gb model seems the obvious choice.

What was your decision in the end? We are facing the same question now... What is the added value to vmix of the 3 additional GB?

I went with the 6Gb version, I haven't had time yet to assemble the PC but I will report back with the my findings.

In the Feb Fun Time Live show Martin notes that 2-3 GB is enough for most people, especially when operating at 1080p or less. He described additional video memory as being helpful when operating in 4K, or when you have a lot of still images/graphics in your production.

We just did a bit of research on this- comparing our current card - the GTX 960 in a desktop to either the GTX 1060 3gb or the 1060 6gb.

Here is the 3gb: http://gpu.userbenchmark...-GTX-1060-3GB/3165vs3646

Here is the 6gb: http://gpu.userbenchmark...-GTX-1060-6GB/3165vs3639

Here are the cards compared directly: http://gpu.userbenchmark...-GTX-1060-6GB/3646vs3639

It appears, according to this info, the 6GB far out performs the 3gb. We just bought one and will report back when it arrives.

I'm in exactly the same position, bought the 6GB but haven't put the system together.

This is good news, I asked the same question as Curtis a while ago but didn't get much response.

What's also interesting is that although I went with the 6GB 1060 the system I used to evaluate vMix only has a 650Ti and has not stumbled on any test I've thrown at it.
