Hi, I have to generate an analog audio/video (sd composite) output inside my HD-SDI workflow. I tried to use intensity pro but I was only capable to generate a composite video signal but without audio. This is my workflow:

vMix with an SDI program HD-SDI (audio embedded) input > External render to composite Intensity pro (downconverted by blackmagic control panel)
video OK
audio NO (RCA)

What should I do to have an analog audio output on the Intensity pro?

Thanks

Can you post a screenshot of your settings configuration in the Desktop Video Utility for Black Magic. It is very easy to confuse the RCA jacks as well even though they are clearly labeled. I find the needed cables and Velcro tie all the rest back and away so I don't accidentally use them. I can confirm audio out via RCA composite with my Intensity Pro and vMix 18.0.0.57.

Some things I would try.

1. Make sure you have the RCA cables plugged in to cables 12 & 13 on the Intensity Pro dongle. Audio out Left & Right.

2. Make sure you go into the Audio settings in the Desktop Video Utility and verify that the audio levels haven't been turned down.

3. Then go to the Conversions tab and check the Output Conversion is set to HD to SD if that is appropriate for your situation.

4. Make sure you click the Save button at the bottom of the window regularly so things don't revert back to the default settings.

Let me know how it goes.

Chuck

I can't say I've done this before but I've just done a successful test with a USB3 Intensity Shuttle which has very similar capabilities to the PCIe Intensity Pro. vMix was running internally at 1080p25 and the external Renderer was set as per the attached images, which also show the Blackmagic control panel settings. It shouldn't really matter what the Intensity Input settings are, because the analogue audio outputs should be active all the time (as long as the level controls aren't turned right down, as already mentioned). And Output Conversion doesn't need to be set (i.e. it can be set on None) if the Output Size and Frame Rate are correctly set in vMix's External Renderer for either PAL or NTSC video, as required.

Everything looks correct. I think I have more audio settings than what your photo is showing. Can you make sure you are using the latest version of the Video Utility as well as the latest firmware for the Intensity Pro...

Chuck

EDIT: Try changing your audio input from composite to HDMI / Embedded. Not sure if that will help but it's a chance.

EDIT2: That didn't seem to affect the audio on my setup. Sorry, I'm not sure what it could be.

@ stussi

Often overlooked, but within the realm of possibility, "bad cables", although I don't know how to test that on BMD's breakout cable.
(In my conversations with BMD support with regards to analog video issues from my Intensity Pro, it was last on their checklist of things to check by trying another breakout cable, which sadly, I have not been able to do yet).
