Hi, i have a few IP cameras I want to connect to Vmix.

the input is password protected but normally you put the user name and password in the url like this: rtsp://admin:password@192.168.1.2/

it seems that when I do that Vmix can't find the camera, it's looking at the part before the IP address.

any work arounds? they are dahura cameras

Hi cruiseweekTV,

Perhaps, it's not the username/password part that is the problem, but instead the path to the stream.
Try to look for your model at https://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=Dahua and see the path to the stream of your camera.

This means that the url you must enter in vMix is something like rtsp://admin:password@192.168.1.2/cam/realmonitor

Hope you can make it work.

Cheers

Hi, we also are testing the Dahua cameras via RTSP. The stream can be obtained with this syntax:

URL Syntax

rtsp://username:password@camera_ip_adress/cam/realmonitor?channel=&subtype=
: a valid user’s username.
:user’s password. (Cannot contain #)
:the IP address of the IP Camera.
:the default port is 554. It can be omitted.
:the channel number. It starts from 1.
:the stream type. The of main stream is 0, extra stream 1 is 1, extra stream 2 is 2.

For example, we request the extra stream 1 of channel 1,the URL is: rtsp://admin:admin@10.7.6.67:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1

In our tests, the stream when opened in vMix seems to freeze sometimes and the motion is not as fluid as when opened in VLC. Could you confirm this? Maybe the decoding used in VLC is more efficient.
