Hello,

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I'm pretty sure someone out there knows if it is and how :o)

I connected my VMIX18 Fullscreen Output via HDMI to a BMD Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 to record a live production.

Video Recording is great as it doesn't use any CPU. But what about the audio?

I tried several options in Settings / Audio Out but didn't get a positive Result yet.

anyone has experience with this kind of config?

If you need more specs, just ask

Thank you very much.

Marc

I do something similar I believe with a ATOMOS Ninja 2 Recorder. I send the External output to the HDMI of the Ninja Recorder (It Shows up as an output option), then I need to set the Master audio output in the settings tab to "Atamos Ninja" and I received the audio as well.

I believe with the new update with vMix 18 you can route the Master, A, B, and Combinations of those to different outputs to customize your final recordings. Although I haven't looked into this feature yet.

@ Cpilcher and mburel1980

A bit off topic, sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm wondering if the "Recordings" on external recorders are "better" than vMix's internal recording as discussed in this thread:

http://forums.vmix.com/d....aspx?g=posts&t=8361

I suggested that it might offer better results but that I had not pursued that option yet so your opinions and observations would be a valuable contribution.

Thanks

Ice

Yeah I saw that post. I don't record to Mpeg2 personally. And have never done a comparison of vMix built in audio vs my Ninja Recorder. I use the vMix recording for my final upload of MP4 50mb/s to upload to an on demand video server. The Ninja records ProRes in case I make a live production mistake and I need to edit anything in post. If you want me to run any tests I'd be happy to do what I can.
