Hi there,
I'm receiving a blue screen of death when I'm doing the following:
(I installed vMix 5.8.01, on Windows 7 64bit)
- I go to tab external output and choose 'decklink renderer' - I set outputsize to 1920x1080 - I press start to output to external output and.. blue screen of death!
This exact same procedure works fine in vMix 5.7. When the outputsize is set to lower resolutions than 1920x1080, no blue screen of death.
Has anyone encountered this problem as well? And, more importantly, is there a solution available?
Thanks in advance!
Albrecht

A blue screen of death is related to a driver issue most probably the decklink driver. Make sure the latest version of the driver is installed.
Also check the settings in the Blackmagic Control Panel. Both input and output processing should be set to Off and the Output should be set to "HDMI & Component"

Thanks for the answer.
I have the latest version of the decklink driver installed, and the settings in the Blackmagic Control Panel are correct.
Please note that it works fine in vMix 5.7. Same driver, same settings.
Thanks!

Have you tried 5.7 recently? Double check the settings you have set for 5.7 and compare them to 5.8.1, something must be different.

Another thing to try is in Settings -> Performance change the Output Format to UYVY as this may be needed depending on the HDMI device that is plugged in.

That was the problem, many thanks! In the mean time I bought a new pc, with four intensity pro cards and the intensity shuttle which i allready had. With intensity pro and color at RGB32, still no luck, but no crash. The TV just lost sync with the card and reported "no signal". The UYVY setting, which isn't in 5.7, solved everything. Never thought of it. Strange thing is however, the intensity shuttle generates a BSOD on the usbIO driver when vMix is on RGB32. With UYVY selected, the shuttle works fine! So probably it isn't compatible with RGB32. BTW, after installing fresh win7 64bit with latest drivers, firmwares and all important updates, and 3 BSOD's later, the 5.8.1 version is FUBAR and reports "root element missing". Reinstall of vMix won't fix a thing. Installing 5.7 will work, but upgrading to 5.8.1 gives the same error. You'll need a full win7 reinstall to fix this error. What is this root element anyway, and why can't it be repaired? With regards, Albrecht.

root element missing means the registration information is corrupt. You can delete all the files at the following location to remove the corrupt registration:
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\vMix2010
(replace yourusername with your login username)
Note that this folder is hidden to Windows, so to access it type it into the Windows 7 search bar in the start menu.
