Hi Martin,

I think I was the original poster asking for support for the Teradek Cube. Thanks so much for that!

I now need to be able to use the Cube in a different way. I transmit from the Cube using the Teradek Link or Bond. The stream then goes out to a Sputnik server somewhere in the cloud. I can connect to the output stream of Sputnik using UDP or TCP. The TCP connection is much more flexible and has retransmit on error of packets.

My request is to support TCP input with vMix. If vMix is to be used by broadcasters to receive a stream in the studio, TCP would be needed because no smart broadcaster would be using a single link back from the field. Using a Bond or Link, multiple modems from different carriers are used for link quality and redundancy. The Cube/Bond or Link system is gaining good popularity with news operations at TV stations. vMix could get in the mix as the stream receiver at the studio end.

Thanks for listening and let me hear what you think.

Tony

Doesn't the Influxis Sputnik server expose the video stream via RTMP?

vMix accepts Flash/RTMP inputs; you just need the rtmp://... URL, then create an RTMP input.

Hi,

The influxis Sputnik server system probably uses a media server like Wowza in order to accomplish this. What I am talking about is a back haul system from an event back to the broadcast studio. Sputnik when used in this manner, set for MPEG transport stream, has available a push type UDP stream and multiple pull type TCP streams.

Hi Tony,

I have been working with Teradek for a few months now to implement support for various devices in vMix.
The first step was RTSP support which is now enabled in vMix 9.

MPEG-TS support is next on the list!

Regards,

Martin
