To me, this seems obvious: some of your settings were wrong. The single recording has 1772 frames, none dropped; yet the multicording has only 417 valid frames, while 1246 frames have been dropped, that's why the multicording is only 1/4 the size and plays 4x too fast. The good news is: none of the dropped frames were dropped because your disk or cpu are to slow, they all got dropped "due to source frame rate".

The MultiCorder requires that the source is able to produce a frame rate equal to what has been selected (30p in this case).
It looks like the webcam is only sending frames at around 15fps which would make it unsuitable for use with MultiCorder.

Thank you Martin tried a bit more , internal , external webcam and SD camera through firewire . The momenent I want to also record one of the webcamfeeds the DV feed recording is also dropping frames I can understand that that multicorder might not be suited if a webcam can not produce the framerate needed but why would that also influence the DV feed then ? On a somewhat related topic...
What settings provide the best "lossless" recording?
And is there a way to "tweak" them?
My findings so far:
I have tended to use DV encoder AVI but find that the image is soft and graphics not clean (look good in windows media player but not Premiere Pro CS5) Ave Data rate 3.6 MB/sec.
MPEG-2 TS is not compatible with Premiere Pro CS5.
MPEG-2 mpg seems to give the best results for editing with Premiere Pro CS5, Ave Data Rate 6.1 MB/sec, but I have not used this setting extensively.
WMV obvious compression, Ave Data rate 85 KB/sec
