I was using Arkaos GrandVJ for quite a while, with inputs coming from a hardware switcher (SD). Now I'm going to build a PC for HD switching based on vMix and a couple of BM intensity cards. While exploring the vMix trial software, I was curios about the "vMix video device" external output option. So I setup and started output to the "vMix video device", then fired up GrandVJ and selected the vMix device as video source.
This not only worked, but I found that there is virtually no additional latency, and the added cpu burden is rather low! The two programms ran smoothly alongside each other, vMix on the first of 3 screens connected to a GTX 670, GrandVJ on the second and GrandVJs output on the third screen, each in 1080p. Using a dedicated midi-controller to control GrandVJ and/or controlling vMix via web-interface this will be a great setup for our live performances!
I yet have to build the actual mixing computer and test it with 3 to 4 live cameras and a more sophisticated GrandVJ set, but this far the tests are more than promising!

Nice one, could you provide pictures or video of your setup for others who wanna go your line to benefit more from your genius expertise...

Sure! Once that mixing PC is done, I'll push it to the limits and add the feedback here - but that will be a couple of months, I'm still in the planning phase. The project is scheduled for early summer, as we are hosting a number of live acts in june and july.
