Having a problem with MPG (.mpg not .ts) video recordings playback at double speed. audio is good at normal rate.
I remember seeing something about this a while back but for the life of me can't find it any where on this forum.
System is a Win7 with current version of vMix HD
Thanks in advance for any help

Ed -

Does this happen on a different PC? Can you share one of the videos that is giving this behavior?

Hey Tom,
This is happening only on a specific PC which has been used for about 2 years now. The system in question has been a work horse for many broadcasts. And just lately started having this problem. I'm not sure if it's software related or other problem.
Here's link to mp4 version https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_3nGTVJugfnX2RQUHdPakdTa3M
I mainly wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this issue and what they may have found.
I'm leaning towards software problem and may do a fresh install of entire system.

@ Egriswold

Is this a recording of the 'playback' or the actual video clip?

This is a encoded version of the recorded MPG file
Sorenson squeeze conversion from MPG to MP4
My client has been doing this same step for over two years on the same system.
Only changes was to update vMix, that's it

@ Egriswold

How does the original MPG recording playback outside of vMix in other software?

they seem to play fine, it's the converted/encoded version that goes crazy. Don't really know why since it's been working fine for over two years.
Client can use other software to convert but Sorenson gives highest quality by far.
Thought about upgrading system to Win 10 so they could record straight to MP4 without pegging the CPU but that OS isn't ready IMHO. There's still plenty to be fixed there.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have.

@ Egriswold

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm having trouble following you...
So it's the MP4 recording (converted/encoded from MPG with vMix) that's the problem?

Apologies for not being clear.
The MPG recorded file appears to play back fine in say windows media player. It's MP4 file converted from the MPG which was the line cut recording from vMix
Since the system is a Win7 and MP4 files cause huge CPU usage my client has been recording a MPG file then dropping in to Sorenson Squeeze to convert to MP4. This has been working for over two years and all the sudden the MPG's will not convert correctly and the only change to the system is keeping up to date on vMix version. So I was wondering if anyone else has seen issues like this.
Thanks responding
