We had an occurrence of a BSOD of a system in preparation for a live production, after it rebooted vMix said its config was corrupted and we had to rebuild the settings (resolution, framerate, recording settings, etc...) and this took valuable time.

Just for the sake of a system admin who takes upon themselves to do their due diligence and take time to understand where the program stores its data, it would be nice if the vMix config stayed within one place where one could easily copy one folder and just append "(backup)" or something to the end. If this were to happen again, just having one place where config is kept that can be easily and quickly swapped out in case of data corruption would be nice.

There seem to be 2 places where config is kept...

C:\ProgramData\vMix
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\StudioCoast_Pty_Ltd\vMix64.exe_blahblahblah\17.0.0.111

There are some text files like video.txt, video1.txt, etc..., xml files mixed with text files, and with much respect I believe this to be messy. I prefer one system-wide config in C:\ProgramData\vMix, and config kept in a config.xml file, license in a similar manner, etc... This would greatly simplify things and prevent confusion and save valuable time in case a driver BSODs.

Thanks for your consideration. I do appreciate it, and continue to believe this is a great product overall.

hi ibgaus,

i dont know if it helps you, but you can save/load a preset and export/import a config file from settings menu.
